#CollegeFootball Playoff expansion is now official. The CFB Playoff committee has officially sanctioned the new playoff format called '5-7'. In this new format,  the five highest ranked conference champions are given automatic bids, with the top four teams seeded one through four and given first-round byes. The schools seeded five through eight will host those seeded nine through 12 in first-round games. What this means is that these bowl games are no longer just 'bowl games' as there will be more at stake. Here are the scheduled playoff periods: 🔳 Quarterfinals - December 31, 2024 and January 1st, 2025 🔳 Semifinals - January 9-10, 2025 🔳 National Championship - Monday, January 20, 2025
