Sweden and its Nordic neighbors consistently rank among the most innovative countries worldwide, being leaders at the forefront of science and technology. At the same time, we fall short in implementing innovations, particularly in health care, where patients are waiting longer than other European countries to benefit from new medicines. How can we get better and faster at creating value from innovations? That was the starting point for an initiative that we kicked off this year under the umbrella of ‘Perspective Innovation’ in which we gather senior business leaders, entrepreneurs and thought leaders from Life Science and other sectors to debate and discuss possibilities and complexities of innovations, share and learn from different perspectives, ultimately with the ambition to pave ways for faster implementation of innovations that make a difference. Last week, we hosted our third network meeting over an inspiring dinner conversation in Stockholm. One of my takeaways from the discussion was that we can’t separate the implementation of an innovation from the innovation itself if we want to succeed. Instead, the implementation model should be an integral part throughout the innovation process, starting from understanding the need you are solving for, and partner with the ecosystem to co-create not only the innovation, but also how it will be delivered to the end user.
