New cultural destination.
The connection between fashion and culture might seem unlikely and contrived, but not when it comes to Saint Laurent. I'm referring to their latest venture: a brand-new bookstore nestled in the upscale neighborhood of Sèvres-Babylone on the Left Bank of Paris.
Named Saint Laurent Babylone in homage to rue de Babylone, where Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé once resided surrounded by a remarkable art collection, this bookstore offers a blend of rare books, new publications in collaboration with diverse artists, and a curated selection of vinyl records.
The interior of the space has been completely revamped, juxtaposing the raw beauty of its exposed walls with sleek polished concrete flooring and an array of contemporary furnishings and fixtures.
Among these are a striking marble-clad display table, matching shelving units, modern wall-mounted shelves, and a reading table accompanied by stools.
Moreover, the new establishment doubles as a gallery, hosting a rotation of captivating exhibitions.
