Reflecting on my journey at KSU my most impactful collegiate event was attending the career fair. Career fairs can be more than just networking events, but they can also help impact your professional journey. When attending a career fair, it gives you the opportunity to build connections with professionals that can lead you to job offers or even mentorships. This event impacted me in way that affects my academic and career path. By attending the career fair, I was able to learn how to network but also discover my potential when it comes to my major. When I attended the career fair it was only to search for internships but as I learned more and more about companies, I was able to understand that it helped me touch base with many employers. Some examples of some companies I had conversations with were Titanium Solar, Hennessy, and Georgia Careers. Going to the career fair was something I’ve never did before so it was like a stepping stone in pursuing my career goals. Although I am still looking for an internship, I try to encourage my peers to attend the career fair even if it's just for the experience. In conclusion, I think the career fair stands out as the most impactful event for me because not only does it serve as a gateway to many opportunities, but it also offers insight about specific industries and the process of networking.

CEO at RecruitMilitary | Empowering the military community through meaningful career opportunities from top companies
I often discuss the key strategies for navigating RecruitMilitary job fairs effectively. But these strategies aren't exclusive to our events; they're universal. Let me share how my daughter applied these at a Virginia Tech career fair during her junior year. #1 - Research Organizations: She identified the companies attending and researched them thoroughly. Understanding what they do and their employee needs helped her focus on the most relevant opportunities. #2 - Craft Your Story: Recruiters always ask, "Tell me about yourself." My daughter prepared a concise narrative about her studies and career aspirations, peppered with anecdotes to highlight her strengths. #3 - Keep an Open Mind: While she had her top five companies in mind, I advised her to engage with as many as possible. Every conversation can be a revelation or a learning moment. #4 - Follow Up Post-Fair: The journey doesn't end at the fair. My daughter followed up with her top choices, leading to a summer internship and eventually a full-time job offer from her preferred company. There’s another powerful lesson from my daughter’s career fair story: Some of her classmates had a completely different experience. They showed up unprepared and had no success. The contrasting experience of my daughter and her friends underscores a vital point: Career fairs are what you make of them. Dedicate time to these best practices, and you'll maximize your chances of success during and after the fair.

Here's everything I'd do at a career fair if I 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 an internship: I remember my first career fair. 🎓 I was wandering from booth to booth, unsure who to talk to or what to say. It’s overwhelming, right? 😥 But that changed for me when I learned how to approach career fairs with a plan. Instead of feeling lost, I walked in prepared, had meaningful conversations, and ended up landing an internship that all started with an interview at a career fair. If you’re ready to turn those awkward moments into real opportunities, check out the video I made this week to teach you how to maximize your time at the career fair. 🎯 P.S. I am posting this today because I know Elon University has a career fair on Tuesday - I hope my Elon connections attend, and LMK if you have any last-minute questions :) #careerfair #internshipfair #studentadvice #financeinternship #businessinternship

Economics & Management Honors Student at Clemson University | Economics Teaching & Research Assistant
With internship applications beginning to open, it's important to highlight one of the most important places you can discover internships like mine at TD – career fairs! As a matter of fact, I discovered TD at Clemson University's career fair. Navigating career fairs is very similar to navigating the interview process. When I went to Clemson University's career fair, I researched the companies that were going to be there and their available internship positions. I prepared my elevator pitch and made sure that I was ready to answer any questions that I was asked during the career fair. I made sure to arrive in business professional dress and to have multiple printed copies of my resume so I could physically give one to each company's recruiter. Some companies will also have a QR code to scan to upload your resume in a digital format, so I made sure to have a copy available on my phone as well. For my peers at Clemson University, TD Bank will be returning on September 12, 2024 to Clemson University's career fair! Speaking as a student who learned about TD's internship opportunities at our career fair, went through the interview process, and have nearly completed the internship program, I cannot recommend attending the career fair enough. In the meantime, be on the lookout from Clemson's Career Center for more information regarding the career fair in the coming weeks! #TDCampus #TDCampusInfluencer #TD #TDProud #CareerFair #Banking #Clemson
