Trauma informed approach to #abuse in #sport is critical. Not just at the international and national level, but all levels.

The importance of technical directors: embracing the grassroots game "The elite game is only the icing on the cake; the broad foundation needs to be nurtured - healthy grassroots are needed to ensure that the game continues to flourish. The role of grassroots football is to ensure that everybody, everywhere, has the opportunity to play football in a safe and quality-controlled environment. Grassroots football is about creating a solid foundation for the game; producing playing opportunities; ensuring respect and equality; uniting people and transcending differences; serving as a vehicle for educational, social and sporting development – and promoting lifelong participation. It plays a crucial social role and promotes healthy lifestyles. Grassroots football must continue to be fostered and promoted. We are taking care of children – so many children love football and come together with their friends because of the game. Football has a significant social impact, because it is also the number-one sport for inclusivity in Europe. Everyone can play football – it is an equal game. Football brings positive values into society. It promotes friendliness, openness… and it promotes fun. Everyone is good enough to play football, from the youngest person to the oldest, from those with skills to those who are not so skilled. We have to continue to let the grassroots blossom." Frank K. As the upcoming Olympics approach, the inclusion of biological males in female sports categories again raises crucial concerns about fairness and safety. Sharron Davies, former Olympic swimmer, highlights that biological males typically have physiological advantages and undermines fair competition, safety, and the overall participation of biological females in sports. With the Olympics spotlighting these issues, it’s vital that policies ensure fair play. Creating separate categories, like an 'Open' category, could preserve the integrity of female sports while respecting the identities of all athletes. The Fit for Life project by UNESCO is a sport-based initiative designed to accelerate COVID-19 recovery, support inclusive and integrated policy making, and enhance the wellbeing of youth around the world🏃♀️ 🤚🏻 But...🤚🏻 Why is important sport during youth? Here, 5 Key Points: 1. Physical Health: Regular physical activity can lead to improved bone health, weight status, cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness, and reduced risk of cancer and diabetes. 2. Mental Health: Participation in sports is associated with lower rates of anxiety, depression, stress, and increased self-esteem, confidence, and cognitive performance. 3.
