How did King’s Day start in the Netherlands? How to say Happy King’s Day in Dutch? You don't want to miss a second of this day. Bargain hunters, orange lovers, royal beer enthusiasts, 'hey-super-nice-to-see-you-again' types, music lovers, fans of Queen Maxima and just life enthusiasts - on that day of April 27th, the trading spirit of the Dutch wakes up. But let's go back to the beginning of this orange madness. It all started with a royal surprise that turned into a national party where even the biggest grumps put a smile on their faces. Koningsdag, or Queen's Day as it used to be known, originated from the celebrations around the birthday of the king or queen of the Netherlands. But did you know that this party actually started as a tribute to one of the world's best bargain hunters? Yes, you heard it right! It all began when King Willem-Alexander's great-great-great-great-grandfather, King Willem I, struck an amazing deal on a batch of orange socks. The people were so impressed by his business acumen that they decided to celebrate his birthday annually with a huge orange flea market. And so, this event grew into what it is today: a day when the Dutch dig out their orange clothes, indulge in orange treats, and enjoy various festivities. So, as you sip on your royal beer and sing along to Dutch hits, think back to that first deal on orange socks that made all this possible. Who would have thought that a simple bargain hunt would turn into a national party where even the king himself participates? Here are various ways to wish someone a Happy King's Day in Dutch: - Fijne Koningsdag! - Prettige Koningsdag! - Lang leve de koning! Hoera, hoera, hoera! (Long live the King, hurrah hurrah hurrah!) - Oranje boven! (Orange on top!) - Gezellig Koningdag! (Similar to ‘Happy King’s Day’, but 'Gezellig' means a special, comfy vibe that's hard to put into words). Explore Dutch culture and language, and before you know it, you'll be conversing in a fresh tongue while plunging into a dynamic community. 👉👉👉 Order my book "32 Brilliant Ways to Thrive in a New Country" at www.tsarina.info/book. I recently had the privilege of spending a few weeks in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was quite a change from the dry heat and mountains of Colorado. The humidity was something else - bringing back memories of my high school days in Dallas, where my nickname was “Electric Viv” due to my frizzy, curly hair. Despite the weather challenges, my time in Minneapolis was truly inspiring, especially my visit to Paisley Park. Paisley Park, the home and studio of the late rock star Prince, was a revelation. Although I was a late bloomer in appreciating Prince's music, I am blown away by his genius, passion, and creativity. It was fascinating to learn about his musical brilliance and how he had so many songs and ideas that he not only wrote for himself but also created entire bands to perform his music. Imagine having that much creativity inside you! Prince's ability to channel his genius and passion into so many different outlets was truly inspiring. It reminded me of the importance of discovering and pursuing our own unique talents and passions. Whether it's music, math, or any other field, finding what makes our heart and soul sing is essential for a fulfilling life. My visit reignited my own passion for speaking. I love sharing my stories and helping others through my experiences. It’s a gift that lights me up and gives meaning to my life. Visiting Paisley Park was a powerful reminder to keep pursuing my passion with the same fervor and to encourage others to do the same. We all have a spark of genius within us. It doesn’t matter when we discover it - what matters is that we embrace it and let our creativity flow. Whether you're young or old, following your dreams and enjoying your passions can bring immense joy and fulfillment to your life. Take inspiration from Prince and remember that the future belongs to those who can harness their genius, passion, and creativity. What passions bring meaning to your life? Let me know in the comments below! God's light really brighten my path, after so many years trying and falling I really pulled this one off. Patience and hard work really pays. I remember when i had to plan a 21st birthday celebration within a month, I swear I wanted to reject the offer but i remembered how much i needed this, then i started by making a checklist that will help me to get organised before the big day. Using a party planning checklist and creating an even timeline are just some of the many things you can do to make sure everything goes smoothly, even if you don't have any experience with party planning, you can still throw a memorable get together. At the end of the day, parties are all about bringing people together and having fun. Keeping this in mind throughout the process and using it as a compass as you make your major party planning decisions is a foolproof way to throw one of the parties of all time. I must say I had a successful event.

St. Patrick's Day- things to do and see! 🍀 St. Patrick's Day festivities can infuse the day with both cultural richness and a sense of community. Here's a strategy to maximize the celebration: 🌟 Begin with a local event. Many towns host parades and community gatherings. Begin your day with the local flair, experiencing the vibrant floats, music, and performances often dedicated to Irish culture. 🌈 Broaden your cultural knowledge while having fun. Dive into the history of St. Patrick's Day, perhaps through a book or documentary. Sharing this newfound knowledge can spark engaging conversations. 🎶 Embrace Irish music. Whether it means attending a live concert, listening to traditional Irish tunes, or even learning a jig or two, music is a powerful way to connect with the essence of the celebration. 🥘 Explore Irish cuisine. Try your hand at cooking traditional dishes like corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, or soda bread. Share your culinary adventure or the final results in your post! 🤝 Connect with your Irish roots or create new traditions. If you have Irish ancestry, consider delving into your heritage, or if not, create new traditions with friends and family. 🏡 End the day reflecting on the connections made, the joy shared, and the memories created. Wrap up your post by emphasizing the spirit of unity that St. Patrick's Day can foster. #StPatricksDay #IrishCulture #CommunityCelebration In sharing your St. Patrick's Day activities, you offer a blend of personal involvement and cultural appreciation that resonates universally. What happened to the UK traditions? The video below is the celebration of the three kings in my local village in my second home in Spain. I love how the Spanish thrive in the tradition of fiestas, every village , town and city in Spain celebrates this amazing festival , which is their Christmas on the 5th January. After a full dress re-enactment of Herod ordering the legions to kill the baby Jesus, the three kings arrive on horseback at the manger and present their gifts. Surrounded by actors in traditional costumes, adults and children with blacked up faces. The finale is a 9 year old girl hoisted on a wire from the 2nd story of a building dressed as the angel gabriel. The celebrations go on late into the night, with the three kings delivering presents to all the children in the village. I watched for the 3rd or 4th year in awe at their dedication and faith. In the UK as a child we used to have maypole dancers, penny for the guy, Santa floats in the street, Halloween parties, bonfires and fireworks in every garden., pram races , rolling oranges down the downes …..All of these traditions seem to have dissapeared due to our obsession with being PC. Imagine the front pages of every newspaper in the UK if you blacked up people’s faces let alone children and not to mention hoisting a 9 year old girl off a building or church roof. Have you experienced similar festivities in other countries? Or perhaps your business has traditions that have carried on through the years? If so why not share them here….. #traditionsandculture #bethebestyoucanbe

Sup folks, another "food for though post"... One of the books I have been reading is "Rising Strong" from Brené Brown. And today a specific phrase came to me pretty interesting: "You can't skip day two" Day two, or whatever that middle space is for your own process is when you are in the void. As she says, "- the door has closed behind you. You're too far in to turn around and not close enough to the end to see the light." We can called is as "the point of no return" - great song from The Phanthom of the Opera. Or storm in the "from-norm-storm-perform" cycle, or even "don't skip leg day" (haha). There are many analogies out there that can represent what she meant about not skipping day two. And yes, it's the hardest one, it's tough and non-negotiable. But, essentially part of the process. But what to do then? Honestly, I don't have a great advice on it other than keep going. I trully believe that keeping consistancy will get you closer to the goal you have, reagardless if it's personal or professional, or at least more confortable with the process. Keep going. Embrace your journey, only you can do that. I will be here to support you, but you are the only one that have the power to not skip day two. ...and who better to inspire you than Snake 😅 That guy never skip day two!
