The most exciting thing coming out of Chapel Hill 🏀 is not what you think...unless you know gradutating senior 🎓 , Rodrigo Hernández-Farrera. My meeting with Rodrigo was easily the highlight of my week, as I was so encouraged by his curiosity, conviction, and boldness. As a leader on the Kenan-Flagler's Student Investment Fund, he's been challenging decades of conventional wisdom with respect to #investing. When presented with an opportunity to allocate to a weapons system manufacturer growing rapidly along with multiple global conflicts, he stood up. "I love the fundamental thesis, but I'm uncomfortable with the outcome." 💡 You see? He's thinking like an owner. When pitched a leading online gambling 🎲 stock with attractive growth prospects, he passed. "It's not just money or profit we have to consider." 💡 You see? He's thinking like someone with concern for his neighbor. Financial advisor friends, Rodrigo far from alone. He represents the silent majority of people curious enough, convicted enough, and bold enough to push back on the notion that investing is about profit seeking at all costs.
