Have you ever wondered how much constitutes as a portion of fruit and veg? For adults, one portion equals 80g, and we should aim to eat at least 5 portions every day. But what does 80g look like? ➡️ 2 small pieces of fruit (think plums, satsumas, or kiwis) ➡️ A handful of grapes or berries ➡️ 1 medium-sized fruit (like an apple, banana, pear, or orange) ➡️ Half a grapefruit ➡️ 3 heaped tablespoons of cooked veg (carrots, peas, or sweetcorn) ➡️ 1 medium tomato or 7 cherry tomatoes ➡️ A 5cm piece of cucumber ➡️ 3 heaped tablespoons of beans or pulses (chickpeas, lentils, or baked beans) ➡️ And don't forget about dried fruit! Just 30g of dried fruit counts as a portion.
