Embarking on an adventure very exciting journey to restore and revive the glory of American soccer holds a profound significance for me. The roots of soccer in the United States run very deep, tracing back to the formation of the American Football Association in 1884, initially driven by Major League Baseball owners seeking winter revenue. The turning point came in 1913 when America joined FIFA, leading to the reorganization of soccer under the banner of the US Soccer Federation. The subsequent clash with the American Soccer League marked a shift in the dynamics of American soccer, ushering in a new era that eventually gave way to the NASL's golden age. The NASL, spanning from 1967 to 1985, became a beacon of hope for American soccer enthusiasts. The New York Cosmos, led by legends like Pelé and other world-class players, captured the nation's attention, achieving record viewership on NBC and consistently selling out the expansive Giants Stadium. The NASL's approach, embracing diversity and community engagement, left an indelible mark on the sport. However, the league faced challenges—rapid expansion, ownership issues, media exposure struggles, and interference from the NFL—that ultimately contributed to its demise. Yet, the NASL's legacy remains a testament to the resilience of American soccer. Now, as I set out to restore iconic teams like LA Aztecs, Chicago Sting, Washington Diplomats, and Atlanta Chiefs through federal trademark applications, I aim to preserve the soul of American soccer. My plan involves expanding professional soccer into a tour-based model, bringing authentic and competitive soccer to the forefront, ensuring that these historic clubs are not only remembered but thrive in a new soccer industry outside the control of the broken model of U.S Soccer. This endeavor is not just about resurrecting teams; it's a personal commitment to honor the legacy of American soccer with the National Soccer League™ It's about bridging the past with the future, allowing fans to reminisce while introducing a new era of inclusivity and competitiveness. Restoring these teams becomes a narrative of my dedication to the enduring importance of soccer history in America, shaping the nation's sports landscape for every generation to come!

We’re at an important juncture in American soccer history. #ProRelForUSA will be implemented in multiple American sports in the near term - including soccer. The trick will be to get it right. The only way United Soccer League (USL) can implement promotion and relegation in a way that gives it a serious and perpetual advantage is to not only open their existing leagues - but to open to the rest of American soccer. This needs to be done with a new, authentic nonprofit organization devoted to opening all of American soccer in a comprehensive fashion. Anything less leaves MLS with the advantage of internationally recognized D1 status and their long-standing ability to meddle in the affairs of other leagues with the help of a client US Soccer. That being said, this new organization can and should be member of US Soccer. Two scenarios open here. In an unlikely one where MLS also splits into two leagues and commences pro/rel with itself - this new organization provides a framework for hundreds of other US clubs not included in the single entity league. In the other, MLS stays closed - but this new organization gives ambitious MLS sides an open system in which they can jump. Obviously, there are many institutional roadblocks for a team to jump MLS for a new league - but a few MLS sides are more prepared for this contingency. If USL is prepared to take this step, it’s a new day in American soccer.
