Ever heard the legend Rory Sutherland talk about changing perceptions rather than changing the world itself? It’s a game-changer for how we see things, including beer! Instead of spouting stats like alcohol content or hops used, what if we talked about the experiences your beer crafts? Imagine promoting a beer not just as a '3.4% session ale' but as 'the perfect partner for life's big wins'. Or instead of a '4.2% ruby ale', picture it as 'your cozy evening brew, ideal for nights by the fire'. It’s about painting a picture where your beer isn’t just a drink, but a part of life’s moments. This subtle but important shift from dry specs to emotional connections can transform how consumers relate to your beers. It's about enhancing the experiences they’re already loving. Let’s face it: I’m no fan of beer flights. Why? Because they’re served in the wrong type … … of beer glasses. How lazy. 🍺 Beer Glass Types: Redux Now, I’m not a typical “beer snob” (well, maybe 🥴), I’m simply ‘very discriminating’ in how beer is poured and served and drank (quaffed, really), how you put your guest(s) you’re serving — even at home, even yourself — are put on a quantum-high experience that NO ONE will soon forget? Isn’t the whole idea of a taproom’s beer flights — no matter how many are in each flight — to “go all in” on creating a sensory overload on the desired serving taste of each beer style — including ALL five senses, particularly including one’s olfactory nerves AND sense of sight? Tip: Your olfactory nerve anatomy is a part of your central nervous system. There are about six million to 10 million olfactory sensory neurons in each nostril. And everyone’s olfactory nerve is different. Did you know this? Okay, I’ll ask: Why not?? Because … “The best beers are the ones we quaff in the correct type of beer glass.” — Stephen Carter King And there’s more. Much more. *post updated and revised* Next in our series … Beer Glasses: Part Deux Source: The Beerconomist #BeerFlights #Beer #CraftBeer #BeerGlasses #Microbreweries #Pubs #Taprooms #Brewpubs #ConsumerBehavior #BrandAwareness #EmergingTrends #BusinessIntelligence 🔸🔸🔸 Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Strategy • Beer Market Analyst • Beerconomy CEO • and Beer & Beer Glass Aficionado

I love tracking our taproom beers like they're racehorses. Is a young innovation product going to sneak in to pass the old guys on a curve? I think I am doing the sports analogy thing correctly. Either way, how about a June recap? DRAFT BEER 1. Half-Life. Hazy IPA 2. Necessary Evil. Pilsner 3. Peacekeeper. Blonde 4. Fallout. Hefeweizen 5. Atomic Alliance. Pina Colada IPA If we remove Atomic since it is seasonal, Red Gate (Amber) would hold the fifth position. It might inch even higher later this year! I'll also admit that the TV series called Fallout gave the beer a lovely boost. BEER TO-GO 1. Atomic Alliance. Pina Colada IPA 2. Half-Life. Hazy IPA 3. Necessary Evil. Pilsner 4. Quarter-Life. Hazy IPA 5. Double Half-Life. Hazy IPA Quarter and Double match what I planned for both of these beers. They’re ideal for the off-premise. Did you notice four of the top five beers are IPAs? FOOD 1. Chicken Tenders 2. Braised Pork Arepa 3. Cheeseburger Combo 4. Fries 5. Steak Frites I take back everything I said about never serving tendies. Honestly, I feared it would turn our beer garden into a daycare. It turns out adults love tenders, too. Any surprises on the list?

Leveraging data is crucial in marketing - thanks to Alan Edmondson for a great example! Tortilla missed a key opportunity with this promo, sending meat-focused content to a vegetarian highlights a clear breakdown in omnichannel data usage. Simple oversights can lead to negative reactions, no matter how enthusiastic the message. Knowing your customer is everything. Better data, better personalisation, better results. #Marketing #DataDriven #CustomerExperience #Omnichannel #Personalisation #CustomerFirst #BrandLoyalty
Yep - life is *definitely* better with burritos Tortilla Mexican Grill plc … but, it’d be even better if you knew what I dont eat. I don’t mean to be overly cruel with this one, but it’s a good example of how a simple, over enthusiastic message can generate the exact opposite response to what you’re looking for. I still love you though… and all your burrito goodness.

If you don't follow us on Instagram or TikTok (you should), we're doing a little series called "Week of Why." First up is beer - we brew 250+ unique recipes each year, which puts us in the U.S. top 10 for variety - but why? The goal when you come to any of our taprooms is that we have something new for you to try. Every time. You could come on a Thursday, and by Saturday afternoon there could be 3 new beers for you to try. Some of it’s simple, right? We want you to come back. We want to keep things interesting. We also have a lot more fun creating new recipes. We get to push the envelope of creating great beer that’s also fun to drink. It's a lot of work...fun work, but still work, to make that many beers. It's constant logistics, constant redevelopment and R&D in pursuit of being ever-better. Honestly, it'd be a lot easier NOT to brew as many beers as we do each year. But that's not who we are or why we exist. Anyone can come and find a beer that they're into AND something new to try, whether that's our line of traditional lagers (Lager Projekt), or a fruit smoothie bomb like our SHNACK series. Keep followin' along this week for more, or find video versions at https://lnkd.in/eAxpJa6B and https://lnkd.in/eZ9GixWB

Brew Fact Friday: Embrace the Freshness! Hey beer lovers! 🍻 Let's dive deeper into the world of beer and uncover the magic of FRESHNESS! 🌿🍺 Did you know that the chemical composition of beer undergoes significant changes as it ages? Yep, that's right! From the moment it's brewed, beer starts a fascinating transformation journey that directly impacts its taste and quality. 🧪🍺 As beer ages, certain chemical reactions take place that can alter its flavor profile. For example, oxidation occurs when beer is exposed to oxygen, leading to off-flavors like cardboard or sherry-like notes. This process can dull the vibrant hop character in IPAs and diminish the malt sweetness in other styles. 😱🍺 Furthermore, the breakdown of compounds such as hop oils and proteins over time can result in a loss of freshness and complexity in the beer. This is why enjoying beer at its freshest is crucial to savoring all the nuanced flavors and aromas that the brewer intended. 🌈🍺 So, remember - freshness is not just a matter of taste; it's a science! Treat your taste buds to the best by opting for fresh beer every time. Here's to raising a glass to the wonders of beer chemistry and the joy of experiencing it at its peak! 🍻✨ #FreshBeer #ChemistryOfBeer #SavorTheFreshness 🌟🍺
