"Women entrepreneurs are often role models to other women in their families, networks and communities. They therefore provide a fantastic route for knowledge-sharing." When women entrepreneurs gain knowledge, they pass it on. Their friends, clients, employees and fellow business owners benefit as a result – better equipped to navigate their own work and lives, and run successful businesses of their own. In fact, two thirds of the women who take our training and mentoring programmes pass their newfound knowledge on to other women entrepreneurs. Here, the Foundation’s Head of Communications and Marketing, Lulu Nunn, explains how we support the old adage that “if you educate a woman, you educate a nation”: https://lnkd.in/eT6dmdqK #adulteducation #womenentrepreneurs #professionaldevelopment

I help women become execs and thrive in leadership - Former Exec | Certified Coach | Forbes.com contributor
Women don't need more mentors! We've been focusing in the wrong area... Turns out, women have a ton of mentors, more than men do! But what men have that women don't are sponsors. And there's a big difference between the two. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ancestry President & CEO Deborah Liu about: - the difference between mentors and sponsors - why men have more sponsors than women - her own experience with sponsorship - what we can do to help women And it's all in my latest Forbes article. I support startups and SMEs through their growth journey / Executive and Team Coach / Mentor / Business Advisor
The ripple effect of knowledge gained from mentoring. Yes, of course. As stated in the article "Educate a Woman, Educate a Nation." It's amazing to see that 96% of women are ready to share the knowledge gained from their trainings and 75% already shared their knowledge and skills with others in their organisation or community. #mentoring #womeninbusiness #womenentrepreneurs #businessadvising #businessgrowth

All too often, women entrepreneurs just don't get the recognition they deserve for the enormous impact they have on others around them. I'm always astonished by what we term 'the ripple effect' - how, when one woman entrepreneur is empowered, she goes on to positively impact 10, 100, even thousands of other people. Women passing on knowledge is one of the best examples of this, and yet it's often unrecognised as it's not as tangible as, say, jobs creation. But what we see time and again at Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is that, while our training programmes might support 100 individual women, that knowledge actually reaches so many more lives, crossing generations and weaving into the fabric of communities. The women we've worked with put it best: Ivonne ocrospoma told us that "It’s important that I not just retain the information, but that I also share it". Natachi Peace Ugbajah shared that "For my community, I can have a positive impact on numerous women by passing on what I have learned". Felicia Ohikere reflected that "I have seen myself continually teach other women what I have learned". And the phenomenal Sola Adesakin CPA, FCA, FCCA, MBA, CFEI shared that "Being a community leader and a leader of women, I wasn’t the only beneficiary of [the programme's] learning points, I went back to teach my community, and we have all become better for it". It was a pleasure to write this piece, bringing some of the huge contributions of the women we work with huge to light, and hopefully making the case for why investing in women entrepreneurs' knowledge means investing in entire societies. #KnowledgeIsPower #BusinessWoman #EntrepreneurTips

As we approach the last few days of #WomensHistoryMonth, Let's share some facts about the roles women play in businesses from The National Women’s Business Council 2023 Annual Report: 💰 President Biden shared during Women’s History Month 2023 that women-owned businesses “add $1.8 trillion to America’s gross domestic product every year, and that number grows. 💼 Did you know there are 14 million women-owned businesses in the United States, comprising 39.1% of all U.S. businesses? That's a 13.6% increase from 2019 to 2023! 💼 The U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship reported that women are creating “about half of new businesses for the third year in a row.” 💼 Research has found that if girls were exposed to female inventors at the same rate as boys are to male inventors, “female innovation rates would rise by 164 percent, and the gender gap in innovation would fall by 55 percent.” 💼 Black/African American women-owned businesses have grown to 2,079,000 firms, representing 14.8 percent of all women-owned and 52.1 percent of all Black-owned businesses. Join us in recognizing and celebrating the economic impact and the strides made by women entrepreneurs! -- #WomenInBusiness #WHM #WomenOwnedBusiness #Facts #SupportWomenEntrepreneurs #EconomicImpact #TheDialloGroup #TDG

🚀 Landmark moment for women in Scotland! For the first time, the number of female entrepreneurs matches men, with 8.6% of working-age women running or setting up businesses in 2023. This reflects a significant shift from previous years, marking a milestone in gender equality in entrepreneurship. 📈 The GEM report, compiled by the universities of Edinburgh, University of Strathclyde and University of Glasgow, reveals 300,000 Scots are engaged in early-stage entrepreneurial activity. However, there’s still room for improvement in the support for women entrepreneurs. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e8a6Zkw4 #WomenInBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Scotland #GenderEquality #BusinessInnovation #GEMReport

WeEco is a transatlantic research initiative about women entrepreneurs in #Colombia, #Germany and #Switzerland. In our last post, we explained what WeEco stands for, but we missed to tell you that WeEco has also another meaning: WeEco also stands for the need to examine or echo the experiences of inclusion and exclusion of women entrepreneurs in entrepreneurial ecosystems. While the literature on #EntrepreneurialEcosystems has started to examine #diversity, #equality and access to resources, we think there is still a gap regarding the experiences of #WomenEntrepreneurs and particularly regarding different types of women entrepreneurs. Thus, we take an #intersectionality perspective. More on this in our next post.
