Sub-report 2 on the collapse of Tretten bridge on 15 August 2022 "The investigation has shown that inadequate caution was exercised in the planning, design, control and approval of Tretten bridge, and that the follow-up of the bridge failed in 2016. Inadequate knowledge and learning after previous incidents is also an important explanation for the collapse of Tretten Bridge. Chip and Blok. Net Zero Carbon. Pre-fabricated. Deconstructable. Dream project for Naikoon Stephane Laroye Dream project for a community. The world as we know it? We are finding that backing off on operational energy (Step code 3ish instead of Step code 4/5 or Passive House for example) as a focus may actually make for a net lower environmental impact, improved comfort and lower cost. Fundamentals remain the same and we need diligence and attention to; airtightness, quality glazing, envelope and proper sized mechanical. The codes are still moving us there very rapidly. We’ve been on the ‘bleeding edge’ of all that the last 15 years collecting hard data of the executed NZ, PH and step 4/5 projects across a few sectors. Very interesting when you get to 10,000 feet and look down on the overarching reasons/onjectives of the energy codes and compare the facts.. good to see us moving to a more holistic look again. Your thoughts?? Thoughts on projects like this for housing? Can the industry find a way to make them pencil out for developers and communities or are we headed back to old ways already before we found our path with modern methods and materials? Are we getting too ‘exotic’ with complications and just need to #KISS?? Back to the basics?? Or is this just totaly awesome!?🤩 Thanks for your comments !
