If you fit the research parameters please consider helping a fellow graduate student with their reseach.
Happy Friday, everyone! As some of you may know, I am a graduate student at TXST. As part of my coursework, I’m conducting a study to examine the experiences of female transfer students who were admitted to a large, four-year institution. If you know of any students who might be interested in participating in my study (or if you are interested in participating), please ask them to contact me at [email protected]. If you are comfortable sharing this with your network, that would be awesome and much appreciated! #transfernation #transferstudents #studentsuccess

Have we truly reached a point where educators are treated with such disdain? The recent video from Prayagraj, where a school principal is forcibly dragged out of her office, has left many of us in shock and disbelief. It’s deeply troubling to witness such a public display of humiliation against someone who holds a position meant to guide and nurture our future generations. This incident, tied to a paper leak case, brings to light several pressing issues in our education system and society at large. First and foremost, it underscores the immense pressure educators face today. While accountability is crucial, the manner in which it is enforced must align with the dignity and respect that every individual deserves. As I watched the video, my heart went out to the principal. Regardless of the allegations, this treatment was inhumane and counterproductive. It serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for reforms in how we handle allegations and the importance of due process. Educators are often on the front lines, dealing with systemic challenges that are beyond their control. The pressure to maintain academic integrity in a flawed system can be overwhelming. Moreover, this incident highlights a broader issue of governance and accountability within our educational institutions. It's crucial that we have robust mechanisms in place to prevent incidents like paper leaks, but equally important is how we address failures when they occur. Resorting to public shaming not only undermines the individual but also erodes trust in our educational system. As we navigate these complex issues, it’s essential to approach them with empathy and a focus on systemic solutions rather than scapegoating individuals. We need to ask ourselves: How can we better support our educators? How can we create a culture of accountability that is fair and just? How can we ensure that the pressure to perform does not compromise the integrity of our educational institutions? It’s time for a collective reflection on these questions. Our education system, and the people who are its backbone, deserve better. They deserve our support, our respect, and our commitment to fostering an environment where they can thrive and, in turn, help our students succeed. What are your thoughts on this incident and the broader implications it has for our education system? Let’s discuss and find ways to create a more supportivae and respectful environment for all involved. How can I read Hossam’s words and not think of my ten plus years of alumni who I cherish? Does everyone not deserve access to education and basic needs? How can I read this and not think - the FAFSA failure is an emegency, urgent on many levels, and yet is “emergency” the appropriate word? How do I reckon the real issues in my day to day life and the very pressing needs of our youth, knowing our own government would rather actively destroy brown and Black lives abroad rather then invest in our education? How do I safely show up at schools knowing teachers are being doxxed and vilified for even hinting at being pro-Pa1i? I have more questions than answers. Whether we are loud, silent, or lacking awareness - every single one of us plays a role in keeping the status quo of “except for Pa1estine” or challenging it. (Google the term if it’s unfamiliar!) I choose discomfort. I choose aspiration of liberation in the face of relentless despair. I choose doubling down on my purpose. All children are our children. There is no other way. *these are my personal views*

I am a creative designer that love to educate and impact others especially Teens to unleash their potentials and be a resourceful leader through digital and self-development training.
Today 24th of January marks the 6th International Day of Education WNP is joining the world to celebrate this day. The theme for this year is "learning for lasting peace." This is significant as the world is seeing a surge of violent conflicts paralleled by an alarming rise of discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and hate speech. The impact of this violence transcends any boundary based on geography, gender, race, religion, politics, offline and online. An active commitment to peace is more urgent today than ever. Learning for peace must be transformative, and help empower learners with the necessary knowledge, values, attitudes and skills and behaviours to become agents of peace in their communities. Education can transform us, giving us the knowledge and skills to be peacemakers. Are you passionate about education? Join us today on X Space to advocate for quality access to education, especially early education, for all children. Join using the link below: https://lnkd.in/eXNryu2x

“We had to trust that youth really knew what the biggest problems were and what the most important solutions would be. And we had to trust that they were the ones with the deep expertise here. This was a sea change, particularly for the adults in schools who had positions of authority and great power over students. For them, learning to trust student voice and wisdom was a deeply rooted challenge.” https://lnkd.in/eJu-tS9y Californians for Justice (CFJ), a community-organizing group devoted to building power for marginalized youth within the public education system, has significantly increased the representation and voice of young people at decision-making tables in schools and at district and state levels. In SSIR’s Winter ‘24 Issue, John Kania and Juanita Zerda of Collective Change Lab take an in-depth look at CFJ and its approaches to building power and creating systems change through relationships: “CFJ’s approach to fostering relational and collective power aims to make transformation everyone’s responsibility.” #Education #Equity #Power #Relationships #SystemsChange

Command/control and transactions are one way to run things. In such systems people are instruments. This SSIR piece speaks to a more human-centered and inclusive way to go. It is a deeper and more rooted way that is also harder to dismantle as well.
