Today, I am proud to share a project that is near and dear to my heart. My entire life I have witnessed my father - a cardiac electrophysiologist - dedicate countless hours and immeasurable energy to caring for patients and their families. Still today, his daily experiences at the bedside shape how I view public policies in healthcare and drive me to find solutions that make the jobs of clinicians just a little bit easier. As we launch the Novant Health Center for Public Policy Solutions, my hope is that we can elevate the voices of doctors like my dad and other clinicians who care enough to make caring for others their career. Our first white paper shines a light on what some may say is a small change - however, it would make a big difference to the Novant Health clinicians who lent their time and expertise to design this solution, as well as the countless other clinicians and patients who have to navigate such challenges each and every day. #healthcare #publicpolicy #wellness #primarycare #novanthealth #peoplefocused #solutionsdriven

Through a multi-part public opinion research project, we learned how to best talk about patient-first care (aka value-based care) that aligns with how people want to receive high-quality, affordable health care. Our research shows people love Value-Based Care but hate the name. We want to use words that resonate with people and what they need from our health care system.
