It involves a strategic public-private partnership, leveraging $275 million in state funds and contributions from notable institutions like the State University of New York, City University of New York, and private entities including Bloomberg L.P. Central to the project is a state-of-the-art facility in upstate New York, equipped with advanced computing power for AI research, accessible remotely to consortium members. This initiative positions New York at the forefront of AI development, fostering a collaborative ecosystem across academia, government, and industry. It signifies a strong commitment to using AI as a driver of innovation and economic growth, setting a new standard for state-led technological advancement in the global AI landscape.

An interesting research done by Pew Research Center and Elon University’s Imagining the Internet Center, they surveyed 540 experts, including technology innovators, developers, business leaders, researchers, and activists, about the future of #AI. They were asked whether, by 2035, #AI-powered machines and systems will be designed to allow humans to easily control tech-aided decision-making in their lives. The results: 56% of experts believe that by 2035, humans will not easily control most tech-aided decision-making. 44% believe humans will have easy control over such decisions by 2035.
