Question for the Fire door community! How many of you that hold a maintenance certificate under a TPC actually get asked to carry out work and certify it within the Scheme requirements? The reason I ask is, that in the years we have held our certification not once have we been asked to carry out any maintenance works under the scheme. It seems to me that the thousands we spend each year to hold the certification would be better spent elsewhere within the company.

Attention all aspiring or current construction managers! An important update regarding CSCS card renewals. The automatic renewal of Black CSCS cards through Grandfather rights has ended. This means that anyone wanting to work as a construction manager, including those already in the role, must now obtain the relevant NVQ qualification to renew or apply for a new CSCS card. Previously, construction managers could renew their Black CSCS card indefinitely without needing to take an NVQ course. However, as of recently, these automatic renewals are no longer valid. To continue working legally on construction sites, construction managers must complete the NVQ Level 6 qualification in Construction Site Management. This ensures all construction managers are properly qualified and have up-to-date skills. Don't get caught out by the new CSCS card renewal rules.
