Incredibly important to have this level of Research. I would particularly like to see some specific level of Research into Invasive Lobular Cancer #ILC Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer is the 2nd most common type of Breast Cancer. It is generally diagnosed at late stage because it frequently isn't picked up on Screening Mammograms. lLC is a unique histological subtype with no specific targeted treatment. It can metastasize to unusual places 10, 20 years after initial treatment. Lobular breast cancer can have a unique pattern of metastasis—spreading to distant sites of the body—compared to invasive ductal breast cancer. Both may metastasize to the bones, lungs, brain, and liver, though less frequently in lobular carcinoma. Unlike invasive ductal carcinoma, invasive lobular carcinoma tends to also spread to the ovaries, omentum, gastrointestinal tissues, and the peritoneum (the tissue surrounding the abdomen). Lobular breast cancer can recur and metastasize many years after diagnosis and treatment, so it is important to be aware of metastatic symptoms. We need more research into #LobularBreastCancer

What is Barrett's Oesophagus? Barrett’s Oesophagus occurs when persistent or long-term acid reflux damages the normal inner lining of the oesophagus. Over time, the lining of the oesophagus is damaged, the cells change, and abnormal cells can develop. It is not cancer but a pre-cancerous condition known as Barrett’s Oesophagus. A small number of people (less than 1%) with Barrett’s Oesophagus go on to develop Oesophageal Cancer. November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. Ironically, November is also when our Creative Director, Mike Upchurch, lost 2 important men in his life to this deadly disease. His father Woody passed in November 2013 and, on this day 7 years later, the same year in which Mike fulfilled a lifelong dream by appearing on Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek lost his heroic fight.
