Connecting loss adjusting and claims professionals with great claims organisations in the UK and internationally
What does a loss adjuster do? Obviously a question on everybody's mind. So I asked one to give an insight into their week: "As a property loss adjuster, my role is a dynamic mix of fieldwork and administrative tasks. Fieldwork days involve on-site visits to assess a variety of claims, ranging from fires to floods. These visits require not only damage assessment but also immediate completion of the necessary paperwork. During these visits, I guide policyholders through the claims process, explaining each step to ensure they understand what to expect. This involves providing emotional support, particularly when dealing with significant property damage, as this can be a distressing time for the policyholder. Administrative days are dedicated to finalising reports, responding to emails, and meticulously updating case files to ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate. This part of the job requires keen attention to detail and effective time management to handle multiple claims simultaneously. Preparation for fieldwork commences a day in advance, involving claim research and scheduling customer visits. However, the schedule is often subject to change due to customer preferences or unforeseen circumstances, which can lead to late nights. During challenging periods like Ramadan, adhering to fasting requirements while maintaining productivity presents an additional challenge. This involves abstaining from eating or drinking from dawn until sunset, which can be particularly demanding when conducting physical visits, meeting service level agreement targets, engaging in face-to-face customer meetings, and managing administrative tasks throughout the day. Despite these challenges, the role of a loss adjuster is both fulfilling and enjoyable. The opportunity to assist clients during their vulnerable times, solve complex situations, and engage in meaningful interactions with customers keeps motivation high. The dynamic nature of the job ensures that no two days are alike, offering continual opportunities for growth and learning. Ultimately, the satisfaction derived from helping individuals navigate through challenging situations outweighs the inherent challenges of the role." With thanks to the adjuster who wrote this, now you can all rest easy. #lifeintheday #lossadjuster #lossadjusting #claims

Get to know Abbey, one of our Insurance Administrators 👋 👉 What do you love most about working at ARC Assessing? "The people and work environment - Everyone is so friendly and there is always someone there to help whether that be by assisting in completing a task or to ask a question. Additionally, ARC has given me the opportunity to develop and grow my skills." 👉 What led you to work in this field? "I previously worked FIFO so I'd heard many stories about different incidents that had happened on sites, this spiked my interest as I never really thought about insurance in the mining sector or how they would assess an incident." 👉 Who's your role model? "My dad is my role model, he has inspired and shaped me into becoming the person I am today – he has taught me everything especially what a good work ethic is and to never give up no matter how many bumps there are to achieve something you can always do it as it doesn't matter where you start all that matters is where you finish." A fun fact about Abbey is she lived in the UK for 5 years, and outside of work, she enjoys going camping and exploring new places. 🏕️ To learn more about our team visit, arcassessing.com.au 🔗 ------------------------ #lossassessing #insurance #insuranceclaim #specialistequipment #heavyvehicle #accidents #construction #meettheteam #assessing #heavyequipment #constructionequipment #assessor #heavymachinery #teamexcellence #workculture #perth
