Municipal broadband, broadband Internet access offered by public entities, has now entered a changing role as we enter a new era of public funding with the availability of BEAD. Once again we are leading the way, our act locally and think globally approach is truly elevating us and bringing true broadband speeds to everyone.

I love the process of creating - particularly when what I’m creating involves innovating and disrupting the status quo, for the benefit of all. Mission Telecom is a now a year old 🎂birthed out of a 40 year old organization, itself a remarkable model of innovation 💪🏼 Building a team and ideating remotely has real limitations. 😩 So, twice a year our growing team will spend some quality time together. Last year we were 3, now we are 10. ✊🏼 And so begins our retreat in Jackson, Mississippi for what will start as an awesome immersive weekend learning from our partner grantees, community members and legislators, touring communities and even a visit to the civil rights museum ❤️. I am so grateful for the opportunity. And then we kick off the week updating and collaborating with our board and with each other as we get ready to launch our wireless broadband services. I keep sayin’ - get ready people! We will also have deep discussions around how we build our culture. It is no easy task as a non profit to build a commercial operation, expressly designed to service the telecommunications needs of social good organizations while also ensuring that we channel our revenue right back into our “why” - #poweringchange I am humbled to be leading this mighty team through the creation process Team - Growth will be mutual.
