Introductions are critical. I would note to take this to heart in personal relationships as well. My greatest hope is we would have those ties of support in our love relationships as well. So few and far apart as we move to different locations for work etc. as you get older bonds that we made in military or growing a company never fade. those battles that created those bonds were intense and friends forever from common shared ownership and pain and growth together. They can be for life easily. They take years now. Impatiently waiting hurts and rarely works. Seek introduction and give introduction. Know two are involved beyond the introduced. And you have two to support questions and understanding of development.

Something I wish I had learned when I started working at 14! But better late than never! I’ve always beena hard worker, but working for is another level which bring a whole new level to your sense of accomplishment and fulfillment! It is the little things in life…. I was reflecting on the most recent holiday season today and remembered New Year’s Day. The highlight of the day for me was building a puzzle with my aunt and two of my cousins. Building puzzles is an activity that I thoroughly enjoy and one I have found to be quite beneficial. Completing a puzzle for me has the unique ability to both calm and challenge my mind. For the avid puzzle builders they know you go through an array of emotions during the task and can get lost in the vast pieces. But as you apply a bit of strategy, combined with resilience, and fueled by passion you can take something daunting and make it not only manageable, but enjoyable. This task has a lot of parallels to life… one of which is rooted in the phrase “taking it one piece at a time”. Building on this phrase is I want to be better at enjoying the piece (stage of life: career, school, etc.). I want to spend more time looking at the colors, the shape, the image, etc. The puzzle completed in this picture taught me this. Some of the little pieces in it were shaped like animals and I found myself at times getting focused on the pieces and not completing the puzzle. That’s another lesson though 😊 Would love to hear your guys thoughts about how to better enjoy the journey instead of always being fixated on the destination? I'm incredibly grateful for the abundance of useful advice I've received over the past few weeks, from getting a library card to establishing a routine that keeps my circadian rhythm—and mental well-being—on track. One of the most impactful pieces of advice came from my session with Cathy at INTOO: before diving too deep into the job application process, take the time to write down, in detail, what my 'ideal role' looks like. This doesn’t mean my next job needs to align perfectly with every criterion, but it has significantly helped me focus my search this past week (when I haven’t been building benches, landscaping, or preparing the kitchen for plastering). Being clear about what I want—and equally about what I don’t want or feel indifferent about—has helped me tailor my search, preventing 'job application fatigue.' As a result, I’m able to carefully apply to roles that genuinely interest me, hopefully increasing my chances of success. I recognise that I’m speaking from a position of privilege, and not everyone has the luxury to be this selective, but I believe this simple exercise can help you feel excited about your next role rather than overwhelmed. I’ve included mine here to practice what I preach, but take it with a pinch of salt—it's a mix of my ideal job and a touch of wishful thinking, because dreaming a little never hurts.

What to do when you feel stuck in a rut at work! This isn’t necessarily about wanting to leave your job. It might just be that you’re feeling a bit meh 🫤 Like everyday you wake up and you struggle to get going…..🫤 But you’re not quite ready to make a move. What can you do to get that spark back in what you do? ⚡️ Notice when you feel like this at work. Is it only related to certain people or tasks? If so, you may have to accept that there will always be things about your job that bore you so, you need to lean into and do more of the things that light you up 🤩 So, on the flip side, notice when you feel inspired, excited, challenged and alive! 🙌 How can you get more of that back into what you do? ➡️ Can you volunteer for projects at work that get you closer to using the skills you know you enjoy using? ➡️ Can you delegate any of the tasks that bore you so you can focus on the good stuff? ➡️ Are there any courses you can take at work that help you to upskill further in the areas that interest you? This is just a quick list of things you can do but maybe it’s inspired you to come up with some other ways you can get that pep back in your step 🤸♂️ If you’ve got any ideas that might help people, let us know in the comments ⬇️
