I have to follow too many rules IRL so I just do whatever I want on LinkedIn. Here are the things I know and write about: Lawyering + Leadership | Education + Business | Finance + Policy | Media + Medicine.
We need to stop expecting the workplace to curate our self care. It's not called employer care; it's self care. That means: YOU have to have the discipline to DEVELOP healthy boundaries that are reasonable SCHEDULE those activities that replenish and rejuvenate you and INFORM people on a need to know basis your UNAVAILABILITY! Your employer's involvement in your self care should begin and end with equitable income, working conditions and outcome expectations. Take control of caring for yourself and people will follow your lead. #sgp4selfcare #scrappygirlproject #selfcare #softlife

Motherhood doesn't make you a less valuable employee. "Employers that measure competency and performance with “facetime” in the office — you are diminishing the ability for caregivers to advance. As employers, ensuring a healthy & supportive work environment is crucial. How do you handle sick leave in your organization? Let's rethink policies to empower employees to take the time they need when feeling unwell—be it a common cold, the flu, or even COVID. Gone should be the days when employees hesitate to take a sick day or work remotely when under the weather. Our collective goal is to foster a workplace where team members feel safe and supported. No one should feel compelled to come to the office when they're unwell, risking the health of others. Let's cultivate a culture that values well-being and productivity simultaneously. Let's start a conversation about redefining sick leave policies for a healthier and more compassionate work environment. #employeehealth #sickdaypolicy #workfromhome
