However, these teams exist as islands-- not relating to each other or having much to do with the city in terms of branding principles. This project is an attempt to unify these 4 sports brands: The Raiders (NFL), the Golden Knights (NHL), the Aces (WNBA), and the Athletics (MLB). Finally.....baseball comes to the 21st century. I admit I am not a typical baseball fan. I am obsessed by it. I played the sport as long as my body allowed me and as a wish to my wife who was afraid I would get hurt, 😢. When you play the game, you fully understand how complex and brainy the game actually is. This is not something the casual fan sees and thus we get the usual, "baseball is boring" misconception. Baseball is everything but boring, but MLB has missed the point for years and keeps making silly rule changes, that affected the game in a negative way, IMO. BTW, I hate watching baseball on TV as it shows one small piece of bigger canvas and does not allow you to really understand what is going on elsewhere in the game. For example, if you don't see or understand why the SS and 2B move two steps to left/right after the catcher gives his signal to the pitcher, you don't know what is going on--the game within the game-- and to you, the game is boring as you missed the call that could make the difference in the game. If you understand the game, you are yelling at the catcher for making a bad pitch-call, in your opinion of course. While some may think the game takes too long, if you understand it, the game flies by and you walk out with a headache from thinking. Baseball is a game of strategy and gamesmanship, skills I've learned to use in my career. It's also a game of patience and anticipating your opponent's next move. Improving the venue of the games is one way to improve the fan experience but unfortunately, for the last 20 years most new MLB stadiums have been "run of the mill" and unexciting. The A's seem to "get it" with their recently announced new stadium in Vegas, not only is the design absolutely astonishing, but the technologies that are being proposed are truly amazing. If they build the stadium pursuant to this rendering, I will move to Vegas so I can go to every home game. Play Ball!!!

In 133-107 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Detroit Pistons are now 2-16. While no one thought the Pistons were going to be a playoff team this year, no one expected them to be one of the worst teams in the League. When I looked at the Pistons Box Score this morning it was clear to me that among other things, they have a Lineup Construction Problem. The Starting Lineup of Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Ausar Thompson, Isaiah Stewart, and Jalen Duren although very talented doesn't complement each other. If we focus purely on Offense, of the five players on the court only Stewart is an above average 3 Point Shooter. Duren doesn't shoot 3s and Thompson is shooting 11%. Ivey and Cunningham at this stage aren't good three point shooters either. In the modern NBA, the Pistons are throwing out a starting lineup that doesn't space the floor. They also don't have anybody who can operate in the mid-range. There was expectation that Cunningham would develop that part of his game, that hasn't come yet. Ivey is very much a slasher and a good finisher near the basket. The kicker is that apart from Jaden Ivey this Starting 5 doesn't have good finishers around the rim. How do you Build an Offense that doesn't have the tools to score on any of the three levels? TJ McConnell is living in the paint during the 2024 playoffs! This edit dives into how McConnell leverages his footwork to instill fear in his defenders. He observes their weight distribution and uses that information to understand where and in what direction they can't cover. McConnell is one of the best in the league at using Core 3 changes to get his defender off balance. Then, he uses elite footwork to give himself options to go or exchange. This edit looks at his exchanges, which are much harder to execute than a simple go-action. Teaching point for players watching: Core 3 changes involve speed, levels, and directions. You must use these three things with footwork to create fear in your defender.
