My philosophy for the mortgage business mirrors Nascar race teams.
I live in the middle of Nascar country. I grew up a huge race fan because my dad and his dad were huge NASCAR fans.
Early in my mortgage career, while working for GMAC Mortgage, I had the opportunity to tour Rick Hendrick Motorsports. It was a fantastic experience.
Rick was ahead of the curve and had a magic weapon.
His race teams were all in the same location and worked together. They shared everything in a very competitive sport. Yet, when race day came, they all competed hard against each other. Clean as well, they rarely dusted up each other.
I do the same in mortgage. I share everything; I am an open book. I have no issues with the perception that I am giving something away. Why? Two reasons. The first is that people rarely take action. They like the information. That's why all these coaches are coming out of the woodwork. Two, If someone did use the information, it makes them better; in turn, that makes me and the team better.
Why do I mention this? First, I hope others follow as it will improve our industry. Although I am sharing, I am competing hard and want to win on race day. There is room for both.
Good luck out there, and reach out if I can help. #mortgage #winnning #sharing #americansecuritymortgage
