Thank you Radu BORCEA for inviting me to tell my IBM story. As someone who has worked at multiple global orgs and startups, I am always amazed at how IBM keeps evolving and it's culture brings the best out of its employees...and with friends and colleagues across the world..I can see why..IBM's biggest strength is the IBMer...always looking to go one step more.. always looking to do it better than yesterday. The coolest thing about the company IMO is that once you have acquired the right aptitude and attitude.. you can literally grow your career in any part of the organisation and get involved in projects that are really cutting edge. My career for example has evolved from someone who worked on marketing tools to working in the field to grow the business. From my POV, here are three aspects of our 10x culture that I really admire: 1. Relentless focus on value to clients and partners: As buying patterns evolve, the consideration for technology adoption doesn’t necessarily happen through siloed interactions digitally/F2F, but happens through demonstrating relevancy to address business challenges. Our focus as marketing and comms professionals is not just to capture and create demand, but to enable thoughtful decision making that puts our clients and partners at a point of leverage for sustained growth. The purpose is much deeper. 2. Your role is bigger than your function: A purpose driven org needs to have strong alignment across operations, finance, engineering and sales functions. At IBM, Marketing and Comms is not an afterthought but has a seat at the table to co-create interactions that effectively articulate the business value of our products and solutions. When 10X (:X being the IBMer) come together, the conversations are more end-end and our future actions are more deliberate. 3. Impact > Process: New logos, top account expansion, creating memorable engagements in the field, building compelling narratives..whatever your mission is.. you will find endless resources and additional hands from across the company to support the mission…as long as the impact is clear. Once you have a demonstrated application of an idea, you get ample breadth to scale and make a global impact. Come be 10x at IBM. After enjoying a Financial Times Video on Adaption Featuring HPE's Monica Batchelder I made the pivot to reading HPE's Living Progress Report 2023. I love a Rosy outlook, but something is missing within the corporate Sector. Sincerity? Spirit? Authenticity? Urgency to to More?! My initial thoughts are below. I recently sat down with Ginni Rometty, former Chairman, President and CEO of IBM and Senior Advisor to Teneo, for a virtual fireside chat. Ginni offered strategically significant insights on leadership cultivated from her nearly 40-year career at IBM, which included major moments of company and societal transformation. Ginni spoke about ‘good power’, and how it is about creating meaningful, positive change by celebrating progress over perfection, leading with respect instead of fear, and embracing tensions. ‘Good power’ principles include being in service of others, building belief, knowing what must change and what must endure, stewarding good tech, and being resilient. Ginni leaned heavily on these principles when making some of the most strategically and historically significant decisions for IBM, such as the launch of the company’s cloud business, and the restructuring of the semiconductor business, which meant retaining R&D and design in house, while making the momentous decision to outsource production. This decision, in retrospect, enabled the business to thrive while the fundamentals of the wider industry were rewritten in the proceeding years. Thank you to the CEOs, senior leaders, and members of the Teneo community who joined us for this conversation. Sales Performance Expert & Technique Coach; Sales Consulting; Sales Training & Coaching; Sales Problem Solver; B2B Specialist; Sales Leader Mentoring; Accountability Coach; Sales Process & Revenue Growth
Practice & Feedback When IBM was rebuilding the company to compete with nimble Silicon Valley competitors, Lou Gerstner brought in "radical" Janet Mc Allister as Global Head of Learning. She analysed the way that people learned within IBM. Within departments it was relatively slow and across functions it was much much worse. She was one of the first HR leaders to deliver technology enabled self-paced learning that could be accessed nearly anywhere on earth. But that was not all of it. The technology delivered the knowledge but in addition McAllister introduced practice and feedback sessions as a key part of the learning process. She included everyone in the value chain from software engineers to sales executives to deliver the accumulated experience of the company to the customer. Think on this before your next sales training initiative. Knowledge is one thing but communication is quite another. #sales #b2bsales #selling #salesskills #solutionsales #salestraining #salesperformance #salesenablement #salesimprovement #salescoach #salescoaching #salesleadership #salessuccess

Last week I got an incredible news that I had won "Gold Club Award" at Microsoft, an award representing the top 2% of performers in the entire organization. The award means a lot to me professionally and personally. ⭐ I am extremely grateful to the entire organization of Kevin Peesker, Rachel Bondi, Harish Vellat and Steven Worrell for giving me the award and all the support for my career growth at Microsoft. ⭐ I want to give a thank you to my manager James Lowson who believe in me and being the biggest supporter of all the initiatives I've created. ⭐ Although it's an individual award, I could not achieve it alone without support from many members in my team who I work alongside & receive guidance from Naren Koushik Jordan David Saurabh Blake Ronan Neha Aparna Nanae Margaret Thomas Andri Sharlie Surya Debananda Anshul Rudolf & Katie Eve Julie ShiSh and many more who I could not tag on Linkedin. Together we made things possible, we have earned the respect with all major customers in the #Aviation & #Transport sector in ANZ. ✈ 🚋 Thank you!!! ⭐ I want to thank & celebrate the success with all of my customers & partners who are not only working with me to solve problems but also teaching me how the #Aviation and #Transport industry work. 🌟 Personally, the award has its unique meaning. Because I was not a born technologist, but the world of innovation intrigued me, and I made a decision to transit my career from Finance to Technology despite skepticism from many friends and even my family at that time. 10 years looking back my career in tech, I have no regrets. I’m passionate about the positive changes #Technology and #AI bring to the world. The #GrowthMindset culture at Microsoft, which inspires us to empower people on Earth to achieve more, resonates deeply with me and reaffirms that I’m on the right path 🚀 . #Microsoft #Microsoftlife #Growthmindset #Careermilestone #AITransformation #Gratitude
