Join #ACCNCR for DEI Workshop: Bridging the Generations - Fostering Inclusion and Belonging in Today's Workplace, May 17, 2024 | 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, Virtual. For the first time in U.S. history, our workplaces have members of five generations working together, navigating different approaches to work and personal life. According to a 2022 Harvard Business Review article, only 8 percent of organizations that have developed diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging strategies have included age as part of those strategies. Often, those strategies are insufficient to effectively address and leverage the value of generational diversity. Ignoring the possible tensions between generational approaches could result in a lack of trust and missed opportunities for connection between workers of different generations, leading to a negative impact on the organization. In this workshop, we will address the dynamics of a multi-generational workforce and provide strategies for how to develop a culture of inclusion and belonging that will minimize tensions and leverage the strengths of all employees. Panelists: Alex Gordon, Senior Counsel, Employment Affairs, The Johns Hopkins Health System Lisa Greenlees, VP & Senior Counsel - ESG, Marriott International, Inc. Susan Walker, ERISA and Benefits Counsel - Allstate Moderator: Caroline Leary, Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, Environmental Working Group Learn more and register here: https://lnkd.in/e5gz6vsq

✨In a social or cultural context, Radical Respect means actively acknowledging and appreciating diversity, fostering open-mindedness, and actively seeking to understand perspectives that differ from one's own. Putting in efforts to dismantle discrimination, bias, inequality and fostering inclusivity, will provide a space for understanding and mutual respect even when faced with differences or disagreements. 🤔What does it have to do with Psychological Safety? 💡Radical respect is closely tied to psychological safety, as the first mentioned contributes to creating a positive and supportive environment in the workplace. Creating an atmosphere of acceptance, where individuals feel secure enough to be themselves and contribute authentically without fearing judgment. 💡Radical respect combined with Psychological safety helps build strong, trusting relationships and enhances the overall well-being and performance of individuals within an organization. 🌍In the Vanguard Voices Speak Up Summit 2024 happening in June 13th-14th, we emphasize the importance of psychological safety at work, no more toxic work culture, it’s time for a work environment with radical respect. ⬇️Register now with the Super Early Bird tickets which includes Kim Scott's upcoming book 𝙍𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 (until supplies last). #SpeakUpSummit ✨Kim Scott is the author of Just Work and Radical Candor. Reflecting on today’s important session during the Better Workplace Conference, meticulously chaired by the esteemed Manisha Mistry, Senior Director of Health and Safety and Environment (HSSE), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at CSA Group. A profound lesson gleaned from one of the presentations made by Abhishek Sarathy, representing Canadian Tire was the formidable power of dialogue in reshaping narratives, championing equity, and nurturing a profound sense of inclusivity and belonging in evolving work environments. He spoke about the power of dialogue in reshaping narratives, supporting equity, and fostering inclusivity and belonging. He alluded that by promoting open discussion, organizations can embark on a collective learning journey, bridging gaps and reducing systemic harm. Staying engaged, truth-telling, active listening, discomfort tolerance, honoring confidentiality, and expecting and accepting non-closure are his organization's six foundational dialogue agreements to create safe spaces for authentic conversations. Integrating dialogue into every aspect of an organization’s culture and using inclusivity and equity as foundational pillars leads to the desired sustainable change. These insights illuminated a path towards a more just and inclusive future, where dialogue catalyzes transformative growth and collective empowerment. #BetterWorkplaceConference #Inclusion #EquityDialogue
