Ensuring a work-life balance is not a linear journey! Working mothers struggle to balance their roles and responsibilities at home and work. A working mother's life can feel like a seesaw, but with a strong support system, you can balance your responsibilities. Establish a routine to bring security and stability to your child's life. Even children feel anxious, so this will help in reducing their stress. Though the journey may be difficult on some days, with the guilt factor tugging your heart, you need to live your life amidst your responsibilities as a mother. If your children are big enough, sit them down and openly communicate about why you are working. Reassure them that they will always be your top priority. Remember to lean back on your friends, family, or reliable caregivers when unexpected situations crop up and you need to travel for work. Don’t beat yourself up for it. Learn to be kind to yourself. In this day and age, women need to be financially independent because it allows them to contribute to the household finances, and lend a helping hand during unexpected situations. Embrace the journey of carving your path. #momscare #guilt #momguilt

Balancing work and parenting is no small feat. We recognize that to be successful at work, our team members need to feel supported in all aspects of their lives, including at home. 🌟 This #WorkingParentsDay, we want to shine a spotlight on the incredible parents who make it all work here at BIC. From juggling deadlines to school pickups, they show us every day what it means to balance the demands of both family and career. Read below as members of #TeamBIC share their parenting pro-tips that help them thrive both at home and at work. 🏠💼 🤝 Ask for help – Whether you have one child or five, it’s okay to seek support when you need it, be open about your challenges, and take breaks when necessary. 🌟 Trust your instincts – When it comes to parenting, it’s important to follow your gut while sometimes considering outside opinions without letting them overwhelm you. 🏡 Lean on your village – Parenting isn’t easy, and feeling overwhelmed is normal. Remember, you don’t have to do it all alone. 📅 Set boundaries – Clearly communicate your work and family needs to ensure balance and support from both your loved ones and colleagues. ❤️ Prioritize self-care – Even a few minutes of downtime can help you recharge, allowing you to show up stronger both at work and home. If I could pick just one top parenting tip for parents, it would be: "Listen don't fix." As adults, we are often very quick to jump in and try to fix children’s problems for them, or to give advice or suggestions. However, we often help our children more just by listening, and by giving them a safe sounding board to work through their problem, to reach their own understanding and to come up with their own ideas about what they could do. Children don’t always need our advice, just our ears. In my latest blog post, I outline why "Listen don't fix" is such an important principle - and how to do it in practice. Head to my Thinking Parenting blog to read it here: https://lnkd.in/e4DHU6h2 #WorkingParents #Parenting #WorkingMum #WorkingMom #WorkingDad #Coaching 👉 I run a social enterprise that delivers workplace parenting support to help working parents balance career and family. We work with top international firms to support D&I, wellbeing and talent retention strategies. I’d love to connect to see how we might support your working parents.
