📸 Explore the evidences captured by one of our hidden cameras in the heart of the Selva de Urundel project: the Crested Caracara. The crested caracara is a versatile bird species that can adapt to a wide range of habitats, from open plains to tropical forests. This species is found throughout Latin America, from Mexico and Central America to South America and the Caribbean islands. Its remarkable adaptability contributes to its widespread presence and success in various environments. In Argentina, the crested Caracara, also known as Carancho, can be observed in the Yungas forests, a true biodiversity haven. These forests provide crucial nesting sites and abundant food resources for this magnificent species. Through the use of hidden cameras, experts had the opportunity to collect valuable data on the behavior, habitat and distribution of this extraordinary bird. The conservation of Yungas forests and the implementation of targeted conservation strategies are therefore essential to ensure a sustainable future not only for the Crested Caracara, but also for the other species that depend on this unique and fascinating ecosystem. Impollinatori e Carbon Farming: Sinergie e Scambio di Buone Pratiche La scorsa settimana, a Roma, il nostro agronomo, Mattia Bradley ha partecipato all'evento "Il contributo del programma LIFE alle priorità ambientali e climatiche della PAC", organizzato dal Centro di Politiche e Bioeconomia del nostro partner, CREA Ricerca nell'ambito del Programma Rete Rurale Nazionale 2014-2022. Questo evento ha rappresentato un'incredibile opportunità per esplorare come le sinergie e lo scambio di buone pratiche tra i progetti LIFE e la PAC 2023-2027 possano contribuire a un futuro più sostenibile. Abbiamo approfondito come le tecniche di carbon farming, possano essere implementate non solo in agricoltura, ma anche in silvicoltura e zootecnia. Siamo orgogliosi di far parte del progetto LIFE VitiCaSe dedicato alla viticoltura rigenerativa. L'adozione di pratiche che miglioreranno la gestione del carbonio organico del suolo permetterà di generare anche un impatto positivo sugli impollinatori, portando così beneficio alla salute complessiva dell'agroecosistema. Le sinergie e lo scambio di buone pratiche tra tutti i progetti LIFE sono cruciali per affrontare le sfide ambientali e climatiche.
