📸 Explore the evidences captured by one of our hidden cameras in the heart of the Selva de Urundel project: the Crested Caracara. The crested caracara is a versatile bird species that can adapt to a wide range of habitats, from open plains to tropical forests. This species is found throughout Latin America, from Mexico and Central America to South America and the Caribbean islands. Its remarkable adaptability contributes to its widespread presence and success in various environments. In Argentina, the crested Caracara, also known as Carancho, can be observed in the Yungas forests, a true biodiversity haven. These forests provide crucial nesting sites and abundant food resources for this magnificent species. Through the use of hidden cameras, experts had the opportunity to collect valuable data on the behavior, habitat and distribution of this extraordinary bird. The conservation of Yungas forests and the implementation of targeted conservation strategies are therefore essential to ensure a sustainable future not only for the Crested Caracara, but also for the other species that depend on this unique and fascinating ecosystem.
