Nobian has successfully completed the construction of a new salt well in Hvornum, Denmark. This is the first of three new salt caverns to be developed in the region. The new caverns are being built to maintain our current level of salt production as well as enabling future expansion. This will ensure the supply of salt to the plant in Denmark and, therefore, the supply of high-purity salt to the industry for chemical production. Read more about the Value of Salt and the importance of salt as an indispensable raw material for the production of essential chemicals and everyday materials: https://lnkd.in/eb8nQDyg. #salt #saltwell #chemistry #GrowGreenerTogether #saltmining

𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐬-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 We're thrilled to contribute to the groundbreaking DemoUpCARMA & Storage initiative, capturing Swiss-generated CO2 for permanent storage. Our scientist, 𝐃𝐫. Eleni Stavropoulou, sheds light on the crucial role of flow in effective carbon mineralization in her recent blog post: "Why flow is key for successful carbon mineralization" https://lnkd.in/exz2stAF Key takeaways: Basalt rock formations offer a promising solution for cost-effective CO2 storage through mineralization. Eleni's research reveals how micro-porosity in basalt impacts flow and mineralization, possibly affecting storage capacity. Successful large-scale carbon storage requires careful site selection, prioritizing high-porosity and fractured zones to avoid pore clogging. The DemoUpCARMA & Storage pilot project in Iceland is a perfect testing ground to validate these lab findings. #carbonstorage #DemoUpCARMA #climateaction #Switzerland #carbonmineralization #CCS

To pelletize consistently and continuously 24/7 at the requisite size and hardness for specific applications takes the right equipment engineered to operate in corrosive environments. But it also takes the proper guidance during the sales cycle. It takes experience: ⧁ to take a prospective customer’s powder and pelletize it at our facility using pilot-scale equipment to generate commercially viable pellets that meet market specifications. ⧁ to understand the variables of upstream operations and how they affect the powder pre-pelletization. ⧁ to optimize process conditions to produce pellets that consistently meet industry standards with high first-pass yield, driving profitability and pricing. ⧁ to customize our equipment for each unique customer application. ⧁ to generate a detailed customer blueprint for installation and commissioning. Mars Mineral has 50+ years of experience on every continent in the world. So, we are very familiar with the requirements of downstream industries everywhere. Yes, equipment quality does play a critical role in positive outcomes. But purchasing the best possible equipment backed by field-proven experience is paramount. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow focusing on the thermochronology of critical raw material hostrocks in the Bergslagen area (Sweden)
Critical raw materials are essential components of green technologies such as wind turbines and electric vehicles. Finding new deposits is crucial to securing a carbon-neutral society, as we don’t have enough resources yet to meet demands solely by recycling. Mineral exploration starts with understanding how these deposits form. Biotite Rb-Sr thermochronology is a great way to create a history of heating and cooling events in deep time, up to billions of years, on cratonic units on a scale of hundreds of kilometers. Such research can reveal when ore mobilization and precipitation events could have possibly occurred, contributing to successful exploration campaigns. Last week, together with #Thomas Zack, we took advantage of the sunny weather and escaped to the beautiful nature of the Bergslagen area. We collected fresh granite samples from outcrops close to the historical mining sites of Långban, Grängesberg, Lovisagruvan, Bästnäs, and Sala. This initial sampling will greatly help establish a baseline for the CRITTER project and fine-tune future sampling strategies. Many thanks to #Edward Lynch and #Karin Högdahl for helping us find the most unaltered and undeformed granite outcrops! Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to unlock the secrets of critical resources. 🌍🔬 #HorizonEurope #CRITTER #Thermochronology #EnergyTransition #CriticalRawMaterials
