There are so many myths floating around about Parkinson's Disease (PD), and we have previously addressed two of them. Today, we address two more. ⚡ Firstly, Parkinson's Disease is a neurodegenerative disease, and it can affect anyone with a brain; hence, even young people are not spared. Young-onset Parkinson's refers to a PD diagnosis received in one's 20s, 30s or even 40s. So, pay attention to your body and if you fear you might have symptoms of PD, visit a neurologist. ⚡ Secondly, PD symptoms vary from person to person. At our facility, we meet many members with varying symptoms and different degrees. For some, the tremors are pretty pronounced, and for others, there are barely any visible tremors. It is vital for PD Warriors to pay close attention to their bodies and identify the symptoms they notice; they should also report this to their doctors to ensure they get the proper medication dosage. To this end, we will have a Symposium to discuss Parkinson's Disease and shed more insight. Join us on May 3rd and visit bit.ly/ADPFAnnualSymposium to register!

I recently finished this blog post, which is basically a summary of a meta study on how Lions mane(Hericium erinaceus) could treat Alzheimers and other neurodegenerative diseases. It is a very interesting read, showing how Lions Mane can be an effective treatment for Alzheimers, reducing Plaque build up, NFTs, restoring lvls of IDE, helping with the utilization of insulin in the brain, reducing oxidative damage/Reactive oxygen species, reducing inflammatory compounds and over production of inflammatory compounds which end up causing neurotoxicity in the brain. Long story short, everything that causes Alzheimer's, Lions Mane prevents. Motor neuron disease refers to a group of rare neurodegenerative diseases in which motor nerves in the spine and brain lose function over time. Early signs of motor neuron disease include weakness and slurred speech. 🔸️Motor neurons are nerve cells that send electrical output signals to the muscles, affecting the muscles’ ability to function. 🔸️Motor neuron disease (MND) can appear at any age, but the symptoms usually appear after the age of 50 yearsTrusted Source. It affects more males than females. The most common type of MND is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
