SWTP Maintenance Tech Appreciates Safety Enhancements Via Secondary Containment Vessels for Gas Cylinders A maintenance technician for a surface water treatment plant (SWTP), previously employed in the marine industry where he had no experience working with chlorine gas, has noted appreciation for increased safety from the plant’s installation of special secondary containment vessels for chlorine gas cylinders. Darryl Culley, one of three maintenance technicians at the City of Benicia, CA, 12 MGD SWTP shared, “When I began here five years ago and learned of the danger with being exposed to the possibility of chlorine gas leaks, I was concerned, and then felt much better; relieved to see that the gas cylinders were housed in ChlorTainers, with all the safety devices that are in that product, instead of [the gas cylinders] being left in the open just attached to hoses.” “[ChlorTainer is] just another well-running piece of equipment in the plant, simple machine to work on, just sits there and works, with gas sensors, with no threat to safety from a whole lot of moving parts. I don’t know how anybody could feel comfortable without this.” ChlorTainer is the only proactive technology for preventing a chemical release. If your organization uses hazardous gas or liquid chemicals, you know that they must be stored and handled with utmost care. ChlorTainer is a high-pressure containment vessel into which a 1-ton or a 150-lb cylinder is processed. If the cylinder should leak, the chemicals are contained within the sealed vessel and processed at a normal rate. When it comes to chemical safety, be Proactive, not Reactive! Hello, Monday🙋🤣🥰🥰 Today, I am working with my colleagues assigned to test-run and troubleshoot a pump unit aside my personal assigned duty on generator maintenance follow-up🤦 It's not easy ooo😞 But I'm fine 💪😀 Look, maintaining your equipment especially in the energy industry, is crucial for ensuring a continuous equipment integrity and quality job delivery as equipment failure can render your expertise, certificate and skills useless. Engineers, alongside mechanics, play a pivotal role in this upkeep to ensure the smooth operation of these critical systems that can break down any time. Just like trained mechanics, Field engineers are also not excluded in pump maintenance for several reasons. ✓First, they possess specialized knowledge not only about the mechanics of the pumps but also about the unique challenges and demands of oil well operations. This expertise allows them to identify potential issues early and implement preventive measures to avoid costly downtime during operations. ✓Field engineers also understand the importance of environmental factors such as temperature, pressure, and corrosive substances present in oil wells. Their ability to assess these variables ensures that maintenance practices are tailored to the specific conditions of each well, maximizing efficiency and longevity of the equipment. ✓Additionally, field engineers bring a holistic perspective to pump maintenance by considering the interdependencies between various components of the pumping system. They can identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks and recommend optimizations to enhance overall performance. Collaborating with mechanics, field engineers facilitate a comprehensive approach to general equipment maintenance. ✓ While mechanics provide hands-on expertise in repairing and replacing components, field engineers offer technical insight and strategic guidance to ensure that maintenance efforts align with operational objectives. Furthermore, field engineers play a crucial role in implementing advanced monitoring and diagnostic technologies to continuously assess pump performance and predict potential failures. This proactive preventive approach minimizes the risk of unexpected breakdowns and allows for timely intervention to prevent costly production losses. So, who told you that you cannot also maintain equipment as a Field engineer? 🤔 The relevance of the saying, "a little knowledge of everything" cannot be overemphasized.✌️✌️ Let me get back to work🤣🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃 #Maintenance #Coiltubing #Cementing #Pumping #Oilandgas #Weafri #Safety

Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ What tool is this? 🔥 Slick-Line - Service Although the equipment (Slick Line Units) only has one wire drum or reel and it is not feasible to replace the wire on a daily basis, some units have 2 wire drums, which is intended to expand the margin of operations to be carried out. The diameter of the wire can vary from 0.092″ to 0.125″, using each type according to the customer's requirements or the type of operation to be performed. #oilgas #wellservices #professionalexperiences #engineering #ecuador #petroleumengineer #wellintervention #engineer #work
