Invitation: If you are in DC on November 29th and work in the democracy + civic health-promoting ecosystem, you are invited to a no-host happy hour at Free State Bar in DC starting at 5pm. ------- This happy hour will coincide with the "Future of Citizenship - 2023 Annual National Conference on Citizenship" and other democracy + civic health-related conferences in DC that week, so there will be many colleagues from across the country joining. This is a unique opportunity to meet, make friends, and compare notes with interesting people from across the community of democracy and civic health-promoting movements.    -------  Details   When: Wednesday, November 29th. Come whenever you can and stay for however long you want.   Where: Free State Bar. 501B G St NW, Washington, DC 20001.  About two blocks from both the Judiciary Square (Red line) and the Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red, Yellow, Green lines) metro stops.    Why: Socializing together in-person (a) is fun, (b) helps us discover a sense of belonging within this community of practitioners, and (c) creates important cross-field relationships that are critical for collective impact. Transforming American democracy and civic health requires a lot of different people/orgs working together across many different lines of operation, so consider this time a valuable investment in building a movement together. Other Info:   It is totally informal/casual...there will be no agenda, no dress code...bring whomever you would like (family/friends/etc.). Drinks and bar snacks are available for purchase (happy hour specials from 4-6pm). Outside food is permitted, so feel free to grab dinner and bring it in if you're hungry (there are a lot of nearby restaurants/take-out options). If you would like a calendar invite, please e-mail me at [email protected]. #democracydrinks
