🏅 Huge shoutout to my incredible wife, Amanda, for absolutely crushing her Whitworth University Leadership Masters Class! Just completed the second module of the Leadership Transformation program with Vinarco Group of Companies. It's a hybrid course, so this module was virtual. The nice thing about mixing up like this (face-to-face and virtual) is that we can be more flexible and work around busy schedules. We covered two major topics - 'Proactive Leadership' and 'Inspiring Team Spirit'. Busy managers often forget to look out for future challenges, which makes dealing with them when they arrive more difficult. We discussed a few techniques for staying one step ahead, especially in this madly VUCA world we're all living in right now! Keeping staff motivated is another challenge. But even small changes (saying 'thank you' occasionally, for example) can make a big difference. Lots of managers focus on the day-to-day challenges and sometimes lose sight of issues affecting staff morale. We looked at how to spot signs that not all is well, and how to quickly deal with it to get things back on track. I must say it was nice to teach a virtual class with all the cameras switched on! Everyone shared great ideas and insights. Looking forward to module 3 next month.
