The last week of the "You Can Do It" Internship Program was marked by a lecture from Dejan Ivanović, Director of Technical Operations for Southeast Europe. Dejan was a scholarship recipient of the Hemofarm Foundation, and today he is one of the leading figures at Hemofarm company. He discussed his career path with the scholarship recipients, the opportunities he created, the obstacles he faced, and how he overcame them. "The opportunity for growth is as big as your ambitions. It's important that each of us does our part, even when no one is watching. That's the key to success in large systems, where every link relies on each other. It's also important to respect the rules, especially in pharmaceutical production where people's health and product quality are a priority," Dejan advised the scholarship recipients of the 2023/2024 generation. #YouCanDoIt to follow in the footsteps of Dejan Ivanovic. Apply for the Hemofarm Foundation Scholarship Competition for the 2024/2025 school year, which we will announce in early autumn. Follow us and stay informed about the competition conditions and opportunities it offers for personal and professional growth. 👩🎓👨🎓📚⏳ #YouCanDoIt #EducationProgram #InternshipProgram #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment #HemofarmFoundation #Hemofarm #OneSTADA

Sammy Daas, PharmD, and I recently had the privilege of passing down lessons learned about letters of intent to some dynamic student leaders at our alma mater, UNTHSC College of Pharmacy 📝 Thank you to the Epsilon Beta Phi Lambda Sigma chapter for inviting us back to speak to the LEADS program! From P1s & P2s working on internship apps to P3s working on APPE & LAPPE apps, we hope our presentation demystifies the LOI writing process (and makes it less painful!) ✏️ Ask "Why" you are applying and if it brings you joy professionally or personally, "What" is the job and its responsibilities, and "How" you plan on making an impact in the position. ✏️ Connect the dots between your actions, experiences, and lessons learned to the job responsibilities and needs. ✏️ Own your hard work as a student pharmacist! Every sentence is a unique opportunity to share your story.

You'll never get this opportunity again. As a dietetic intern, you have the very unique opportunity to try out different roles and companies for a few weeks at a time. Curious about dialysis because you've heard it pays well, but not sure what it entails? This is your chance to test the waters for a few weeks to discover if it's a good fit for you. Many of our interns fall in love with renal because they ❤️ ➡️ Providing 1:1 education and developing rapport with clients ➡️ Delving into the complex science of renal MNT ➡️ Collaborating with the healthcare team and making a true impact. You also get to complete fun educational presentations for the community and the clinic. Luke, a recent KBDI graduate, enjoyed teaching dialysis patients all about ways to hydrate while being mindful of sodium. ❓If you're a future RD, what rotations are you most curious about? ❓If you're currently an RD, what rotation do you wish you would have done? #rdn #nutritionstudent #dieteticintern #rd2be

It has been a month since i joined TISS for MPH-HA Programme and so far the journey has been exhilarating and inspiring. During the interviews, one of the thing which felt like a hinderance to my selection was my gap years. I feared that my gap would become an obstacle to my admission procedure and create difficulties. But i learned that it didn’t, if anything they are helping me right now to have a more clear vision and understand my future perspective better. Here’s how they help us: Time for Self-Reflection and Growth: A gap allows individuals to reflect on their goals, values, and interests, fostering personal development. Skill Development: During a gap, individuals can focus on building new skills or gaining certifications that are not part of formal education or their current work. Improved Career Focus and Job Readiness: A gap can provide the space to explore different career paths, internships, or volunteer opportunities. This helps in making more informed career choices and returning with renewed focus and better alignment with personal interests. My sincere gratitude to Prateek Prasoon sir for giving me the confidence to never be ashamed of my gap years and infact to learn and embrace them.

Just finished reading a fascinating case report on hydrotherapy for ankle sprains in professional athletes by Javorac et al. (2020). Reflecting on my own internship experience, where I witnessed the incredible benefits of hydrotherapy firsthand with my colleague in ankle sprain patients. From pain alleviation to swelling reduction and enhanced range of motion, it's inspiring to see how hydrotherapy aligns with real-world success stories. I should add that these are PAID internships. Not only does this make our internships accessible to those who can’t afford to work for free, there is a noticeable difference in the quality and consistency of their work over the span of the semester. It is a lot easier to give more to an organization when they are compensating you for your time. At the very least, I believe we need to be paying interns enough to cover the indirect expenses that come with a job (gas, meals, clothing, etc.).
The GLO Center's new class of interns starts this week! You can get to know them here: https://lnkd.in/g56d-m8Q

What do our interns do during a business rotation? It really depends on the type of rotation! Here are some example activities and projects that graduate Aloma worked on during a rotation with a private practice dietitian ⬇️ ❇️ Developed and taste-tested gut health-friendly recipes ❇️ Created and designed a SIBO guide for clients ❇️ Investigated how to bill insurance and common reimbursement issues ❇️ Conducted a website audit ❇️ Developed a marketing funnel for different services ❇️ Wrote a comprehensive business plan with ideas on how to help her preceptor expand her services This was all on top of also getting to see 1:1 clients! Our unique and innovative rotation curriculum ensures that you'll get a variety of experiences just like this during your rotations.
