One of the most critical challenges facing Malawi today is the alarming rate of depletion of traditional sources of energy, more especially fuel-wood and charcoal which together command the largest share of energy used. This has significantly contributed to high rate of deforestation that considerably contributes to the problem of climate change. The issue of climate change has been under discussion in most international conferences where clean development mechanism was adopted as a strategy for limiting greenhouse gas emissions. What a beautiful sight I thought but then the leaves are getting pale; yeah it’s harmattan but the tree show a lack of water with a lot of sunlight available yet the photosynthetic process would be inhibited because there’s no chlorophyll meaning Co2 wouldn’t be absorbed as much which causes that stuffiness we all experience in the air during this period Often wondered what exactly changes in the athmosphere during harmattan why does the air become toxic. I just realized the imbalance in atmospheric gases. Wow 😯 everything is connected. What ll prevent this? Drip irrigation. By constantly watering the trees, grasses and plants; there’s adequate chlorophyll to absorb sunlight for the photosynthetic process to take place so Co2 can be absorbed leaving the air more pure and safer for breathing Weird how there’s more sunlight available during these seasons yet unutilized for energy generation or air purification or decarbonization. I feel like I just solved a puzzle in my head. Wow 😮 so this is it. We definitely have to create a balance. In Nigeria, we aren’t using all that we have in the best way possible. We should cause we have everything to have a better and greater nation. Maybe this is a good time to buy an Air purifier for your homes, offices and hospitals. I ll update this pic in a months time. What exactly are carbon credits? Essentially, they're permits allowing a set amount of carbon dioxide emissions. When a company exceeds its emission limit, it can purchase these credits to offset the excess. The aim? Encouraging emission reduction and supporting eco-friendly initiatives. Recently, the Zambian Governance Foundation (ZGF) and the Zambia Alliance for Agroecology and Biodiversity (ZAAB) joined forces to host an enlightening session on carbon credits in renewable energy. Representatives from various civil society organisations (CSOs) gathered to delve into this complex subject. During the session, perspectives on carbon credits varied. Some attendees were sceptical, questioning their effectiveness in combating climate change, while others viewed them as valuable opportunities.
