Integration into Global Value Chains (GVCs) can significantly boost productivity and drive productive transformation in developing countries by enabling specialization in specific chain segments. Policy strategies are essential for #LatinAmerica and #Caribbean countries to maximize these opportunities and address the associated challenges. This study, authored by Agustin Filippo, Guaipatin Carlos, Lucas Navarro, and Federico Ariel Wyss, provides a comprehensive mapping of the key GVCs in the region, the prevailing environmental conditions, public policy challenges, and strategic guidelines for designing sustainable productive development policies. These policies are aimed at facilitating the integration of regional businesses into #GlobalValueChains. 📢#antifragility In the document written by Harikrishnan Tulsida, Economic Affairs Officer at UNECE: Working Party on Regulatory Cooperation and Standardization Policies (WP.6), the importance of antifragility is highlights as a desirable progression in resource management. The author discusses the transition from a condition of fragility, through resilience, to antifragility, emphasizing how this transition can contribute to improving the management of natural resources in a sustainable way. Antifragility is understood as a higher capacity than simple resilience, not only allowing systems to resist shocks, but to benefit and grow following adversity, thus improving their ability to respond to future challenges. This concept is part of a broader framework of sustainable resource management that aims for more effective and innovative use of natural resources, while ensuring the reduction of environmental impact and the increase of global collaboration. The antifragile approach is therefore seen as a key element to strengthen the resources sector's capacity to adapt and respond to global dynamics and challenges, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
