Following on from last week’s question in our Q&A with LexisNexis UK – does it matter which law firm you trained with - today I am sharing our tips and insights on… 💥 Do I need prior experience of working in-house? 💥 🔶 While having prior in-house experience such as a secondment or pre-qualification experience can be an asset when applying for in-house roles, it is not always a strict requirement. 🔶 Many in-house positions are open to candidates with a strong legal background, relevant expertise, commerciality, and a good understanding of business operations. 🔶 Some companies may prioritise candidates with prior in-house secondment experience, others are open to hiring talented lawyers who bring a fresh perspective from law firms or other legal settings. 🔶 It is important, when applying for in-house roles without direct experience to tailor your application to highlight the transferable skills, commercial acumen, experiences and aptitude that make you a strong fit for the specific needs of the company and the industry.
