👏 I've been a little quiet because we welcomed our newborn daughter, Zara, to the family over Valentine's Day, and our 2.5 yr old daughter, Summer, keeps us busy but is also the house cheerleader who was recently chanting: "Offer! Offer! Offer!" 👏 Hola, Miami - A mid-level litigation associate, unlicensed to practice law in Florida but scheduled to take the next bar exam, is starting at a large firm in Miami. This candidate came from a top 15 Am Law firm in NYC. This is a huge win because it is very difficult for litigators to join biglaw or biglaw equivalent firms without first getting admitted to practice or at least having pending exam results (can't waive in to FL). This person was referred to us. - A corporate M&A associate is interviewing at top biglaw firms in Miami, also from NYC, and already getting several round interviews at many firms. This person was referred to us. - A commercial real estate associate moved down from the midwest to start at a highly regarded boutique firm in Miami. This person is working with the coolest people; the firm's management is awesome and so are is team. They continue to attract top talent. This was someone I sourced and helped move back home. - A litigation associate is all set to start at a boutique firm in Miami to work with a rising rockstar partner. This person will get to practice in an area of law they love most. It's not easy to redirect the course of a career, to get more of the work wanted at such a great firm. This was a team effort placement. - A commercial real estate associate is interviewing at the top biglaw brand names in Miami. This person already has such a strong local network, we are thankful for this person to trust us with their search. And we're happy to have produced results so far that I know will lead to a win. I can't take credit for this one; this goes to another humble team member who doesn't post enough of her own success stories. (who wants to read all that gloating anyway) - A debt finance associate is interviewing with one of our favorite firms in Miami known for a terrific track record of keeping associates happy and more promotions to partnership. (this person was sourced by the same humble team member I mentioned above) - A insurance litigation associate accepted an offer in Chicago this week. This person will be joining a firm that can provide an overall better quality of life and more opportunities to advance their career. (again, sourced by the same, humble non-poster team member) - Most recently, I started working with one of the most amazing senior associate/counsel level M&A attorneys I've ever known. And I'm going to get this person interviews asap here in Miami. - I didn't get a chance to write about wins in DC, NJ, TX, other places where our team is working on more searches and with terrific candidates... and could keep writing 😳 but my newborn needs a baba. Talent plus Character As I was reading the Schultz Law Group LLP post below, welcoming our newest "talent" to the team, my friend shared a video of Adele, speaking about talent and character. The Talent Pipeline Have you ever had a need in your organization and rushed to fill it? How has that worked out for you? Scarcity breeds haste. Haste can lead to waste. Schultz Law Group LLP has grown and diversified its business exponentially in the past year. New institutional and individual clients for our insurance and civil litigation practices, new lines of work, a massive expansion of our anti-fraud and special investigations projects, and a launching of our workplace investigation practice group, led by Pamela Vlasic, have all lead to some new resourcing needs. After all, its not about having the work to do, its about doing it exceptionally well, and happily. There was little doubt that our infamous red chair needed “butts in seats”. But we needed the right (smart, kind, creative, collaborative) “butts”. That red chair thrives with a litigator’s mindset, a willingness to try, to learn, to challenge and to support as part of a high-performance team. After several months, introductions, coffees, lunches, interviews, in person meetings, and more than a few business plans, we are ecstatic to welcome five incredible new members to the SLG team: Savneet Multani, associate lawyer Tanya Walia, associate lawyer Heather Taylor, senior law clerk Adele G., legal assistant Daniele Henderson, legal assistant Our lawyers are in flow, our law clerks are the backbone to our hearings and trials, and our legal assistants are our…boss (we might as well say it like it is - IYKYK!). It isn’t easy to bring 5 new members into a team in a short period of time, however the SLG onboarding system is designed to set every person up for success, as an individual, in their role, within the firm and industry. With a great team of trainers and colleagues, coupled with our industry leading tech, we did it! Five new team members, five new brilliant brains to add to our courageous and strategic litigation team, five new #womeninlaw. But hold on—WE ARE NOT YET DONE! Our hearing and trial practices are booming, and we’d love to welcome a litigator with at least 6 years of insurance defence experience. Accident Benefits? Coverage?
