42 years ago today, September 30, 1982, Lancaster Outlet City opened for business. It has been part of the Tanger company since October of 1994. October 25th will be my 40th anniversary at this property. There have been many changes in those 40 years, both at this property and in our industry. Tomorrow starts my final month as I look forward to retiring at the end of October. I have been truly blessed to be a part of this industry. I started when outlets were in their infancy. Seeing store displays of cardboard boxes, dump tables and galvanized pipe racks. Store designs were at a bare bones minimum. Today outlet stores look and feel just like their full price cousins. Outlets have truly become a very profitable means of distribution for many savvy manufacturers. More than witnessing these changes I have been blessed to work with many amazing individuals. I have worked under Jim Rouse, Stanley Tanger, Steven Tanger and now Stephen Yalof. I have learned from each of them and from every single person that I have worked with in my career. I have been blessed to be a part of the Tanger Company, FAMILY, for 30 years. I have truly been blessed and am truly #TangerProud. #IworkforTanger
