Children's Education Center students recently witnessed the magic of metamorphosis! Transitioning students helped lead this initiative by purchasing food for caterpillars and handing out supplies to thirteen classes. The classrooms watched as the caterpillars transformed before their very eyes, writing poetry and creating artwork about what they were seeing. Finally, in an outdoor ceremony, the now butterflies were able to spread their wings and fly! 🦋🦋🦋 Read more on our blog at https://lnkd.in/ebbTATnx.

**Title: Nurturing Aspirations: The Journey Towards Fulfilling Ambitions** **Summary:** This poetry elegantly encapsulates the essence of youthful aspirations intertwined with the ritual of going to school, symbolizing the foundational step towards the fulfillment of life's ambitions within the fabric of civilization. The imagery of chirping birds at a beach road bus stop in the early morning serves as a metaphor for the awakening of dreams and the commencement of a daily journey toward personal and academic growth. The diverse sizes of pediatric passengers, still ensconced in the vestiges of sleep, represent the varied stages of awakening to one’s potential and the pursuit of knowledge. The bus's journey, under the careful guidance of the bus driver, mirrors the structured path provided by educational institutions, guiding young minds through the terrain of learning towards their aspirations. The poetry underlines the significance of education not just as a means to an end but as a transformative experience that shapes one’s destiny. It reflects on the notion that every morning, with its rhythmic motion and the promise of a new day, brings opportunities for children to explore their passions, awaken to their true potential, and step closer to their dreams. Through the serene and hopeful lens of a morning bus ride to school, the poem highlights the critical role of education in empowering individuals and propelling society forward. It reaffirms the belief that nurturing aspirations from a young age is essential for the progression of civilization, ensuring that each generation contributes to the collective knowledge, growth, and betterment of humanity.

Hey parents and teachers! Looking for activities to get 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students away from screens? Don’t worry, the DNR has you covered. It’s time to get creative and write original poems and riddles for the 13th annual Air, Air Everywhere Poetry contest. Parents and teachers of Wisconsin’s 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students can share the "Where’s the Air?" activity with their kids or choose one of nine other educational activities focusing on science or social studies. After learning about the air around us and the importance of keeping it clean, students can write their own poem or riddle and submit it to the DNR. Please note that submissions are due by May 3, 2024, and must be the child’s original work. Three winners will be selected, and their work will be featured on DNR’s website. For contest rules and activities, visit: https://lnkd.in/df-BD9s Good luck and have fun!

The story provides a potent means of exploring the importance of compassion. Through this sequence of lessons, children will explore prejudice in the context of the story. One of our most frequently asked questions is: "Does the Power of Reading help children with their writing too?". Instead of us talking about all of the ways it does this, here's what Emily from one of our Associate Schools has to say about their experience with it, and what it has done for teaching literacy, including children's writing at Summercroft Primary School in Hertfordshire.
