Same for an attacker who has network related permissions on k8s or is able to Change a service definition. But no permissions to change sidecar configs. Assuming an attacker taking over a worker in k8s, gaining ability to dump traffic from interfaces, but no access to memory or files of the target container. Assuming a takeover of any intermediary systems. Like firewall configuration in the vpc or edge nodes in k8s. Assuming an attacker in the providers network, able to dump traffic on physical interfaces or VMs. All scenarios are Kind of far fetched maybe. As an attacker would always have to be quite limited to access to traffic and no fils or ram but still be able to dump and exfil. Or maybe process in situ. Filter out creds and DNS tunnel then out. If it's not costing any money and the CPU overhead is negligible, why not? Same for backend configs for PaaS load balancers.
