https://lnkd.in/gXW_FarA This a three man podcast video..One guy dominates the conversation in the clip but brings up some good points..The 2024 Semi Finals and Final were all decided by double digits..Some of the fans at the Final Four are far away from the court because it's a basketball court put inside a big football stadium..The guy brought up the point that the NIT as been played at Butler University's historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indy or Madison Square Garden in NYC, and those crowds at some of the games are more intense..The environments are better at those historic arenas because those venues were built for basketball viewing..The depth perception at a basketball court in a football stadium is much different and flatter than a steep and verticial perception in a regular basketball arena..I actually worked at the 2024 NIT Semi-Finals and Final at Hinkle Fieldhouse..The final game was a loud environment and felt like the real national championship game..Hinkle Fieldhouse is in Indiana and only holds around 9,000, but Indiana State participated in the NIT championship..The ISU fans were loud..Seton Hall beat ISU 79-77 in 2024 NIT Final..The NCAA wants to make money off of ticket sales, and NFL stadiums have a bigger seating capacity than basketball arenas.. 🎙 🎟 🎫 💺 🏟 🏀 🗑 💰 📈 📉 #sportbusiness #hospitality #marketing #eventmanagement #facilitymanagement #logistics

Hockey players often use the word “balance” to describe two different things: ✅ Ability to control single-leg stance ✅ Ability to maintain control through bumps/contact Both of these require lower body strength, hip/core control and an awareness of where the body is in space. From an off-ice standpoint, training to improve control through contact can be accomplished by integrating partner “perturbation” core exercises or med ball catches in various positions (i.e. holding squat, split squat, lateral squat, or single-leg squat positions). However, if you’re training on your own without a partner, these 5 exercises are a great starting point: https://lnkd.in/err9hHJw 1️⃣ 1-Leg Squat vs. Stability Ball (Inside Edge): Focus on maintaining inside pressure throughout the movement 2️⃣ 1-Leg Squat vs. Stability Ball (Outside Edge): Focus on maintaining outside pressure throughout the movement 3️⃣ Anti-Rotation Press Lateral Squat Transition: Focus on keeping your hands centered in front of your chest as you push yourself side to side 4️⃣ Lateral Squat Med Ball Figure 8’s: Focus on staying centered over your squat leg while moving the ball 5️⃣ Single-Leg Squat Med Ball Figure 8’s: Focus on staying centered over your squat leg while moving the ball With all of these, the goal is to maintain pressure or control while responding to a challenge from an external force. 🔑 The medicine balls in the last 2 videos are filled with sand, so everytime the ball changes direction, the momentum from the sand creates an added challenge. If you don’t have these, you can use a partially filled gallon jug of water or “slosh pipes” (PVC pipes with water inside) to accomplish the same thing. 📈 Want to know how to progress these even further, sign up for my newsletter at https://KevinNeeld.com . In basketball, certain plays are reviewable using instant replay. Some of the plays that can be reviewed include: 🏀 Out-of-bounds calls: If it is not clear which team touched the ball last before it went out of bounds, this play can be reviewed to determine possession. 🏀 Scoring plays: Whether a shot was a two-pointer or a three-pointer can be reviewed to ensure the correct number of points is awarded. 🏀 Shot clock violations: Referees can use instant replay to confirm if a shot clock violation occurred before a shot was taken. 🏀 Flagrant fouls: In cases where a foul is deemed flagrant, it can be reviewed to determine the severity of the contact. 🏀 End-of-quarter plays: Referees can review last-second shots at the end of a quarter to see if it was released in time or if a foul occurred. #BasketballRules #InstantReplay #RefereeDecisions #ReviewablePlays #BasketballReview #SportsOfficiating Stay updated on how instant replay improves the accuracy of basketball officiating!
