If you are a parent of school-aged children, or a teacher/ school administrator, I encourage you to give this journal a try with the kids in the early hours of the day. There is a home and a school version available, and a sports/team version I believe is in the works. Read more about the author, Katie Woods, below, and about the amazing impact A Simple Seed journal is making through its implementation in many schools throughout the United States, and even overseas!

Corporate College recently had the incredible opportunity to host executive leaders from 100 Black Men of America, Inc. for their executive leadership retreat. I had the privilege of leading a session titled "Education's Post-Pandemic Evolution: What We Provide Matters," and later joined Herman Bulls, vice chairman and international director at JLL, to discuss "Organizational Leadership, Governance, and Impact." Educational leaders, how do you see the role of education evolving in the post-pandemic world?
Cuyahoga Community College's Corporate College recently hosted executives from 100 Black Men of America, Inc., for their annual retreat. We’re proud to announce that we are exploring an opportunity to further partner with 100 Black Men of America through their Collegiate 100 program, a campus-based student organization that supports the development of the social, emotional and educational needs of youth who need positive role models. We can’t wait to see this program uplift our community!

If every Community College grad would just proudly post their CC alma-mater (along with their subsequent transfer institution, of course) it would be Transformative. One reason more people don't know of and celebrate the transformative power of Community Colleges in America -- hence the silly and often racialized stigma -- is that so many transfer students immediately delete their community college history on LinkedIn as soon as they "get in." As if attending a CC wasn't instrumental, pivotal, and transformative in achieving their dream school transfer. Which, paradoxically, only further reinforces the silly stigma they're apparently afraid of. Got stereotype threat? Gentle reminders: recently retired UCLA Chancellor Block was once a transfer student from Foothill College. And now it's on his LinkedIn. Apple founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak both dropped out of elite colleges/universities after just one year because it wasn't worth the money. That's why they attended De Anza College. Which had fantastic computer access and CS classes. And yep, that's why Apple is still headquartered in Cupertino. Ditto Hollywood: Tom Hanks? Arnold Swarzenegger? Both are proud champions of their CC alma maters. And the list goes on and on. And on. So why not join them?
🎉 April is Community College Month! 🎉 Have you attended a #CommunityCollege or earned an associate's degree? If so, have you included this in your LinkedIn profile? 👀 👀 Let's #EndCCStigma and celebrate #CCMonth by showcasing our #TransferPride right here on LinkedIn!
