👉 Supporting Sustainable Institutional Changes to Promote Citizen Science 👈
Really embedding #citizenscience in Research Performing Organisations (RPOs) can be hard as it's not only about getting a few researchers to run a couple of citizen science projects - no, it's a lot more than that! And it requires many different staff members to get involved to ensure sustainability.
As part of the TIME4CS project, we (Kristian H. Nielsen and I from Aarhus University) developed and conducted workshops at RPOs focusing on four key areas:
* Research & Methodology
* Education & Awareness-raising
* Support Resources & Infrastructures
* Policy & Assessment
Building on this, we created a training resource designed to facilitate the adoption of citizen science within RPOs (and could be useful for other types of organisations as well) with detailed descriptions and slides.
It is freely available as a course resource on the https://eu-citizen.science MOOC platform (you will need to sign in, also free to create user), including descriptions and slides available for download and re-use by you, for example for you to run a workshop in your own organisation. We also developed a Train-the-Trainer section dealing with important topics when developing and running trainings (also generally applicable).
The online course resource should be useful for RPO researchers and other staff, also particularly training providers, though individual modules may also be interesting and relevant to many other audiences. We hope it will prove useful to you!
