Here is a recap of most in-demand-jobs of 2024 As per LinkedIn's Talent Blog here is the latest: ▶ Sales agents and customer assistants job postings have 2x'd over last 3 mo ▶ Most in demand areas: Healthcare, Frontline roles (CSRs), & Engineering/IT Jobs with the Fastest-Growing Demand (Q2'24 vs. Q1'24) ▶ Sales agent (+163% increase)  ▶ Customer assistant (+118%) ▶ Solicitor (+85%) ▶ Software/Web Developers (+76%) ▶ Patient coordinator (+76%) ▶ Medical doctor (+71%) ▶ Payroll clerk (+71%) ▶ Director of analytics (+53%) ▶ Floor manager (+51%) ▶ Customer service supervisor (+50%) Couple thoughts: - OMG on healthcare shortages, likely a push/pull between a huge demand for practitioners and the need for subject matter experts in developing new tech in the healthcare space to help serve the growing the demand - There is more investment going into selling / ramping businesses, with an eye on customer service. - Automation has not yet eclipsed the need for customer serving/frontline roles. I still believe these roles are the best training ground for those new to the workforce. - Payroll clerk - this is such a critical role and a domain that very few target to specialize in. Wanted to get your take on an interesting interview experience I just had... Received a text from a medical device company, looking for a remote data entry clerk. Was skeptical, but wanted to see where it went. All communication was done on Teams Chat. Oddly enough, the recruiter does not have a presence on Linkedin. I answered all the interview questions, and they made me an offer. They did not ask for my SSN or do any background check (CORI, SORI, etc.). They said that they would send the I-9 verification forms in e-mail. This is what they asked next: - They would send me a file with a check for the equipment I needed to purchase. I would print the check and deposit it in my account. Then: "To simplify the process of purchasing your office equipment, you can use the funds from the check to buy directly from our trusted equipment vendor, who is affiliated with our company. They will supply customized equipment featuring your name and the company logo, install the necessary software on your computer, and email you an invoice before delivery. I will act as an intermediary to assist you in communicating with the vendor throughout this process." Geez, I was born at night, but not last night! Found a link about a scam for this company on the BBB site. I asked her about this, and she said, 'Oh, this is disturbing. This is not us!'. Told her that I needed to step back from this, even if this meant losing the position. Waited 1/2 hour, and no response. If this recruiter was actually AI, maybe her head exploded. The company is listed on LI, so I guess it is real. A high school friend follows one of the officers. Thoughts?

Sales Agent and Customer Assistant roles have seen their share of paid job posts on LinkedIn more than double over the past three months, making them the top two jobs with the fastest-growing demand in Q2 2024. Salesperson remains the single most in-demand role overall.
