The windscreen of our car has two purposes - to offer us a clear view of what's in front of us and to protect us from the outside. Our car also has rearview mirrors for us to quickly glance and see what's behind us. But have you ever noticed that the windscreen is much larger than the rearview mirrors? That's because what matters most is what's in front of us. The rearview mirror is only for a quick reference of what we leave behind. The same principle applies to our lives. Take a quick look at the past, learn from it, and then look forward. Keep your eyes on the road, and enjoy the ride. This is the last known picture of me in high white socks 😎standing next to an antique Mini on a street in Savannah Georgia. Now for the tutorial… The year was 1957, and in post-World War II England the Suez Crisis had sent fuel prices soaring, leading many to wonder if the large, gas-guzzling vehicles of the day made much sense anymore. So, Sir Leonard Lord of the Morris Company issued his top engineer, Alec Issigonis, a challenge: design and build a small, fuel-efficient car capable of carrying four adults, within economic reach of just about everyone. As fate would have it, the challenge of fitting so much function into such a small package inspired a couple of historic innovations. Issigonis created more room in the cockpit by pushing the wheels all the way out to the corners and turning the engine sideways, giving the car more stability on tight turns and more passenger space on the inside. The world had never seen a car quite like it. And when the first MINI launched in 1959, it quickly became the essence of culture. This was honestly amazing! Andy and myself have always wanted this opportunity. But we faced a daunting reality that we had to test and resolve quickly. A huge element of car filming is tracking the car when it's moving very fast. This meant we were going to need to hang one of our biggest investments off a moving truck at speed! And also invest in a Car Mounting System. Or... We could not invest in that gear and try and wing it. But that's just not us. We wanted take our production quality to that next level! Reassuring the client he's made the right choice with us, and that we're 100% confident in the result. So here's the outcome from that investment. (Enjoy the music 😆)

Great article. We put in our pre-order the first time we saw it. Few thoughts: 1) Priced right, less than Airstream Tradewind, the only one in family that slightly compares. Way more features in Pebble for the $ 2) Like the tow-assist, but towed a small RV this summer with Tesla Model X. It isn't 3-4 stops for a long day, it is 6-8, maybe more. The tow-assist may get one to 4-6 stops. Also have to consider time to stop during day, and most of chathing stations don't have a tow through charger. Adding in time to park, remove trailer (Pebble makes it easier), and the time to charge…during a full day spending 6 x 30-45 mins extra on your deive. stopping. 3) Pebble is 6600 lbs to tow, only a few EVs can pull this: Rivian, Tesla Cyber truck, various EV trucks. Probably want towing capacity of 8500+ to be safe So excited for the Pebble, but for the kind of trips and camping we plan, the towing vehicle will still be gas. Still very excited by the improved gas mileage we will see towing the Pebble. Pebble will hopefully drive continued innovation in the EV industry, the rest of the features they have promised for production will make this RV a class of its own for awhile.
