The practice career fair at Reynolds Hall on September 17, 2024, was great practice for the real upcoming career fair on October 2, 2024. I had a lot of fun talking to great people at the practice career fair and learned many new skills. It helped me to get a good understanding of what I need to do to prepare myself. At the practice career fair I was able to talk to many different companies and practice my conversational skills. The more I talked to companies the more confident I got in myself. During these conversations, I was able to practice my personal pitch to companies. Each conversation was different so tailoring my pitch to the company presented was important. For the future, I look to expand on the lessons I learned and applying them to my next career fair. One thing I learned is to research the companies I want to talk to in the future. I learned that it is important to know the company you are approaching. Now that I have some experience, I will use it to the best of my ability and I look forward to the upcoming career fair and connecting with new companies.

How do I make the most of the career fair? ✨ To maximize your experience at the Career Fair, focus on engaging with the companies you favored during your research. Initiate conversations to ask pertinent questions and gain valuable insights. Demonstrate confidence and take a proactive approach when interacting with employers. After each discussion, take a moment to jot down notes and formulate a follow-up plan. This reflection period also provides an opportunity to gather your thoughts before approaching the next company. If you wish to follow up after the fair, request the employer’s contact information. Feel free to hand out your resume to multiple companies, as this may open doors to various opportunities.✨ Want help preparing for the Career Fair?
