Locks are for keeping honest people honest. This post reflects gross ignorance of vote farming/tampering in American history. There have been problems with immigrant vote exploitation since the 1800s. Notorious political machines like Tammany Hall exploited immigrants in the 1800s as part of the Saloon system. This doesn’t even touch the racist policies used by Democrats in the Antebellum period. From attempting to count enslaved people as part of a population to get more voting power (the 3/5 Compromise) to poll taxes and other Reconstruction era/Jim Crowe discriminatory policies to discourage persons of color from voting, the Democrats have a long history of depriving citizens of a real voice. While Whigs and Republicans have done small scale voter fraud and gerrymandering, the Democrat Party has been suppressing votes and exploiting vulnerable populations for political power for centuries. If elections were free of tampering, lawmakers of all parties would have no problems with basic citizenship verification at the polling places. All citizens want their voice to count. It’s what makes a representative democracy function. Yet one party—again—consistently attacks voter authentication practices.

NO non-citizen did not impact the 2020 election. They are NOT allowed for vote in federal elections. So why are Republicans still wasting time grandstanding on writing legislation that already exist? Is it just another way to distract from the truth. "However, non-citizens are already not allowed to vote in federal elections in the United States, and it's not a common occurrence. No state currently allows non-citizens to cast a ballot in state-level elections either, according to the Bipartisan Policy Center, though some municipalities may have their own rules for local races." https://lnkd.in/g_CKHv5C
