The NY HELPS program was created to help New York State agencies fill thousands of jobs open across the state. This program streamlines the appointment process to allow State agencies to hire diverse, qualified permanent employees quickly and without examinations. What does this mean for you? Now is the time to join New York State public service! With the NY HELPS program, it’s easier than ever to get a job—without taking an exam. New employees hired under the NY HELPS Program will be appointed on a permanent basis. Interested candidates can view NY HELPS Job Postings on https://statejobs.ny.gov/. To narrow your search for NY HELPS jobs, click on "For the General Public". Select "YES" in the NY HELPS field. Press submit. This will bring up all of the NY HELPS jobs that are available. The State's civil service hiring process is merit-based and requires a fair and competitive selection process. The good news is that the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is here to help! 👉 Follow these steps to get started: 1. Create or sign in to your account on calcareers.ca.gov. 2. Search for a job posting and specify your search by using filters and searching for "Department of Industrial Relations" under department. 3. Review the Minimum Qualifications for the position you are interested in. 4. Take and pass the exam for the classification you are interested in. 5. Prepare required documents such as your resume, cover letter, and statement of qualifications (SOQ). 6. 📊#LabourMarketTracker. In June, the total number of active postings declined very slightly to under 1.7m for the first time since February 2021. There were more than 1.6m active job postings in the UK, with 737,584 new job postings in June 2024. 👉The number of overall active postings in June 2024 was 1,689,040 – down by 1.6% on the number of postings in May 2024 but still above pre-pandemic levels. There were 737,584 new job postings in June 2024 – a 2.6% decline from the month before. 👉Occupations with notable increases in job postings in June 2024 include Childminders (443.8%), Driving Instructors (191.1%) and Air Transport Operatives (57.8%). Of the top ten jobs with the highest increase in postings from May to June, five were related to the driving and logistics industry. 👉Fermanagh and Omagh (17.0%), Derry City and Strabane (16.2%) and Redbridge and Waltham Forest (16.2%) had among the highest growth in job postings when compared to last month. Of the top ten counties with the highest growth, four were based in Northern Ireland. 👉Compared to the previous month, the Construction industry had a 1.7% increase in the number of job postings, whereas Education (-1.8%) and Human Health and Social Work Activities (-4.7%) experienced declines. 📝 To anyone interested in a job with the State of CA, read on... The California State civil service hiring process is merit-based and requires the conduct of a fair and competitive selection process. This is true of ALL State departments, not just here at Department of Industrial Relations. State recruiters often receive emails and messages asking us to put in a good word or move their application along... ... and legally we can't 😕 That's because you must apply and be selected to interview the same as any other candidate would. Seems fair, right? Give every person the opportunity to compete based on their merit? Sign me up! If selected to move forward, the hiring manager will reach out to you to schedule an interview. We tell applicants to allow several weeks for hiring managers to review all applications and schedule interviews. Additionally, applying on LinkedIn or Indeed is not permissible and all electronic applications must be submitted on CalCareers.ca.gov by the final filing deadline. No exceptions. Again, that’s the merit based hiring process and something none of us can circumvent. BUT WAIT! Recruiters with the State are ALWAYS here to answer questions about specifics, including positions, classifications, classification specifications, exams, interviewing tips, the State's hiring process, or anything else you might have questions about.
