Sharing our company update meeting that we did with employees this week. We have such an impressive group of people. And oh yeah, today we're celebrating our 5-year anniversary as a company. It's been an amazing journey so far, and its super-exciting to carry on and continue expanding to 100 markets over the next five years, most likely sooner! Some dates are always special such as today, the date when we launched Silver Talkies Club six years ago in 2018, based on the inputs from attendees of our events. They wanted to meet more often, know their co-participants better and have more fun and engaging opportunities. Hence Silver Talkies Club was born in a time and age when active ageing, loneliness and isolation among older adults were not spoken about or discussed much in our country. I was in fact told by many peers that I was playing in a small niche field. Fast forward to 2024, almost every new player in the senior care space is looking at addressing similar issues with similar models. Did we start too early or did they start too late? I think it is immaterial for as they say that all's well that ends well. What is most heartening for me is to note that in the pic below all the people who became members in 2018 are still members in 2024, with the exception of one member whom we lost a few months ago. Six years of relationship still doing strong! So we must be doing something right:) Cheers to healthy ageing! #olderadults #activeageing #seniorcare #healthyageing #anniversary
Six incredible years have flown by, and today we're celebrating a remarkable milestone - Happy 6th Anniversary to the Silver Talkies Family! A heartfelt shoutout to each and every one of our amazing members who've been with us since day one, your support and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our journey. While we celebrate our triumphs, we also remember our dear friend and pioneer member, Arun Bhatia, whose spirit continues to inspire us every day. And a special mention to Akila Krishnakumar, our beacon of wisdom and guidance, thank you for being our mentor and advisor throughout this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of laughter, learning, and cherished memories together!

Celebrate Every Milestone! In our fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to focus on what we haven’t accomplished rather than acknowledging the strides we’ve already made. We tend to be our own harshest critics, often overlooking the progress we’ve achieved, no matter how small it may seem. Every milestone—big or small—deserves recognition. Whether you’ve completed a project, learned a new skill, or simply made it through a tough week, take a moment to celebrate these accomplishments. It's this recognition that fuels motivation and positivity, helping us maintain momentum on our journeys. So, let’s shift our perspective! Instead of fixating on what’s left to do, let’s appreciate how far we've come. Share your wins, no matter how minor they may feel. Encourage your colleagues to do the same and create a culture of celebration around growth and progress. Together, let’s uplift one another and celebrate each step in our journeys! What milestones are you celebrating this month?

I recently made a mistake when celebrating a great month in our company. We blew away our goal and I wanted to recognize our team. Instead of just congratulating our team for their great accomplishment, I threw in the dreaded "but" at the end of it. "but, next month will most likely be much different." There was no need for me to do this. I intended to shield them from a possible letdown the following month since we always have a strong January. The "but" was not necessary at that time (and probably not at all). Celebrate your wins. Recognize the success of your team - the other stuff can wait. A well-informed team already knows of the challenges that may lie ahead and is prepared to handle them. Let celebrating your wins stand on its own. Do not dilute what your team accomplished. Interestingly, February came and they beat our target for that month as well.....and did it again in March.

When it comes to showing recognition for the good work people do, bigger isn't always better. Sure, accolades and awards can be great. But have you ever had someone tell you how grateful they are for you? No spot lights. No LinkedIn post. No blasting it on the company email chain. Just one-on-one, Telling someone how special they are. Now that's something people never forget. You see, Many managers think showing recognition has to be this big public occasion. They'll go through all the trouble to show recognition, But won't take the little step to thank someone privately. Here's a groundbreaking thought ... do both! Do the big stuff sure, But remember it's the private stuff that feels really meaningful. Some great ways to better show appreciation to your team: https://buff.ly/4bHvMKq.

🎉 Celebrating achievements might sometimes be overlooked, but it's essential to prioritise it. A couple months ago, we all shared a recent achievement with each other, highlighting the importance of sharing our successes. 👏 Whether big or small, each success deserves recognition and a moment of pride. Take the time to celebrate your wins—it's a great way to stay motivated and appreciate your journey!🌟 #CelebratingSuccess

As we near our 10th Anniversary celebrations at CM Advocates LLP, these are some of the most important lessons that I have come to embrace: 1. Don't try to be better; be different. In other words; always think differently; and often inverse. 2. You should be ruthless when it come to execution. Concerning this point, I wish to borrow these two quotes: (a) “Ideas are easy. Execution is everything.” – John Doerr (b) “Strategy without execution is hallucination.” – Thomas Edison 3. Always be bold and courageous. Never give room to fear or self doubt. In the words of Peter Drucker, “The best way to predict the future is to create it." 4. Resilience and agility are critical and indispensable skills or attributes in life and in business; therefore, cultivate them. By these I mean that we should always be ready to respond quickly to any disruptions or change. On this point, here is my favourite quote from the father of the rainbow nation, Nelson Mandela: "Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again." And this too: "When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: you haven't."~ Thomas A. Edison
