Why I switched from ChatGPT to Claude 3.5 Sonnet? I've been using ChatGPT for more than a year. Never thought I'd try anything else. But then I recently found Claude AI's Sonnet 3.5 way better than ChatGPT. It blew my mind! Here's why I'm so excited: • It really listens to you.   Like, REALLY listens. No joke. • It follows instructions perfectly.   No more frustrating back-and-forths. • It's super relevant.   90% on point, way better than ChatGPT. For coding, Claude can be your go-to teacher. I tried ChatGPT but I found it got stuck and couldn't get out of those loops. But Claude is great!  It solves problems when it gets stuck. I even built a complete web app using Claude. The capabilities of ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot in completing 'code fragment' tasks are astonishing. Previously, I believed a good programmer was worth ten average ones, but now, with ChatGPT's assistance, it seems like one equals twenty. Writing UI used to be a hassle due to cross-platform issues, leading to the pursuit of solutions like Flutter and MAUI. However, now these seem less valuable as ChatGPT helps to quickly establish native UIs without needing to be cross-platform, by writing separately for each platform. The performance of Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT makes me anticipate the next breakthrough in Vision technologies in factory automation. The downside is the increased workload for programmers, as their output has multiplied several times.

I’ve been doing a lot of coding recently, and while I’ve experimented a little with using ChatGPT to help, I still find myself going back to StackOverflow again and again. With ChatGPT, I can get perhaps some basic code for certain repetitive tasks. But, when I find myself turning to the web for help, it's often for something more obscure and specific. So, I still find myself turning to StackOverflow. There, for even some obscure coding questions, there will be a diverse range of comments and opinions. And sometimes, really in-depth explanations that explain why there might be concerns with certain solutions over others. A recent blog post by Andrea Valenzuela goes into some depth on the technical reasons why tools like ChatGPT are still not quite good enough to replace human coders, including finite context windows that limit the effective length of the code you can get out of these LLM chatbots [see link in comments]. ChatGPT in development is not optional! 👨💻 Recently, I observed a skilled developer making extensive use of ChatGPT during a coding session (the one embedded in VC), from asking questions to refactoring code snippets effortlessly. He is a great dev, I love him. But then, in a pair programming session, he was back to the old-school coding routine, no ChatGPT in sight. Curious, I ask why.
